Cha Hae In is really the ONLY "potential love interest" in the novels. I don't quite understand everyone's hate for her. She's just figuring our her own emotions while trying to be levelheaded. And she's pretty smart and has good intentions. Their relationship at the end of the novel was downright heartwarming.

THANK YOU. while I have been traumatized by good stories being ruined by harems I know that this isn’t the same. She is (as you said) smart, strong and figuring out her emotions, not to mention she is mature and isn’t the type of character who was created with the intention to mooch off of the MC. They also have rather decent chemistry and wouldn’t hold each other back when fighting. I really like this relationship and I hope to see more of it.

I hated her at once too, ( still kinda do) mainly because the only reason she seems to have interest in him atm is because he smells different. Also some people just don’t care about her and her romantic plot rn, and because she likes him it’s the only reason she’s really wants to join his guild, which is understandable, but to me if she did join his guild I feel like we’d have to read her freaking out and being flustered a lot which would be a little annoying! I don’t think anymore that she should be removed as his lover altogether but instead that they wait until the very end to actually get into a romantic relationship and just give little hints at it. Or something like that cus I don’t really care for romantic sub plots

Well the romance is only about 5% of the main arch (like 300 novel chapters) and 25% of the post-major-plot-shift (like 70 chapters). It's about 25% cuz the DO get into a real relationship (i.e. marriage). Just know she's here to stay, but her presence is minimal.

She's not a drama queen. The "smell" thing is kinda important to plot near the major-plot-shift moment. They go on one date which gets cut short then a make-up dragon ride (or that was the same date, been a hot minute since I read the novel). They are very professional with each other.

She left her old guild cuz she was just tired of it. She was a track athlete in high school and, because dungeons and powers appeared on earth, she never really go to pursue her dream. We get to see more of the true Cha Hea In in the post-arch.

Even if you don't read all this, I still hope you find it in yourself to stop hating her or atleast seeing her as a person who is good at heart and can do her job without bringing her personal life into work.

I too had my doubts on the level of involvement of Cha Hae In while reading the novel, but rest assured it is an appropriate amount. There were even times where I forgot she was a character in the storie. That's how infrequent she appears, especially when Sung-Woo takes a trip across seas.
