I'm losing interest because I read to much angst and characters are always suffering but I always wanna know the end. (。_。)

I understand your points (so i wasnt coming at U guys probably). But it just sucks how suffering and angst only seems to be acceptible with constant sex. Ah i give up. And yes i want to see how this ends too

And his nightmare at the beginning of this chapter. That leads into another moment that is getting a little lost in all the politics of the different factions and the ripples of Fei Long's chest. This moment right here:

"I don't want to use this to hurt people." But as Hot Monk says, it is necessary to protect those who are always in danger, like Asami. And that's where this is heading, where Akihito will have to make a choice to maim or possibly kill someone to protect Asami. He's already struggling with the idea of it. Nightmares of Asami being shot vs. the reality of learning how to handle a gun. When it comes down to it, will he be able to shoot and shoot accurately? Either way, it will cost him something.

Further down the page, someone asked why people like this manga, and this is a big part of why for me. The whole relationship has been this battle between the dark of Asami and the light of Akihito. From the start, there was imagery of Aki going down the rabbit hole. "It gets darker the further down you go." How far down can Aki go before the darkness claims him?

On a less philosophical note, I wish we had seen how Aki ended up where he is. Did he go willingly? Was he told Asami would be back for him soon?

Takaba is really in a though spot. dealing with the nightmare of Asami being shot, while having to take a life to protect a life. He has handled a gun before, on the ship, for kirshima, to defend him, and against the stalker for Ai, and on the roof top. The very fact that he is questioning if he can or wants to take a life says he already has his limits. I know this is just my op. of Asami but I don't think he wants Takaba in the abyss with him. That is one of the reasons he put him at the temple. So he(Takaba) would not have to make these types of choices. You are right abt. the battle between them dark and light. That is what drew Asami in the first place. He would not want Takaba to lose that part of himself. A fine line to walk.

This is a keen insight. The story often focuses on Aki's struggle with his danger addiction and love for Asami (more so the later) and how it might change him. This is yet another step in that dance.

An accurate assessment @eworth and exactly how I see things, but I think Akihito loves Asami enough to go there. I also think that Asami keeping Akihito hidden away from the line of fire until the whole incident is resolved is Asamis' need to prevent Akihito from taking that step further into darkness. Asami values Akihitos' light and naïveté, his ability to bounce back from horrors and his positive outlook, as it tempers Asamis' darkness.

Sometimes it can feel like the story is gliding over that aspect--because it isn't War and Peace. But that was a somber little moment there, a reminder that there are complex emotional stakes.

I think he will, too (Aki protecting Asami.) It will be interesting to see how they both handle the aftermath.

:) I like the story, but it is not really meant to be more than what it is. I enjoy it though--and I still analyze it for fun.

Asami wanted Aki to pick up the camera again. He is trying to make Aki sober(This is what the monk is doing), Aki is not fit to get a gun, he is better suited to restore the truth with a camera.

I admit I'm guilty of over-analyzing, but I'm going to over-analyze over-analyzing by saying that's one of the pleasures this manga, that if you want to analyze it, Yamane Ayano gives you stuff to play with.

Honestly, I just imagined him waking up on the island one day with a note from Asami and freaking out but then accepting he can't run away o.o I never thought into HOW he got there--or the detailed experience at least.
