i used to read it on webtoon, and i believe it was a webtoon original. it's somewhat of an anthology, with several stories, some revolving around mafia families, with the stories connecting at some point in the story. it was a black and white webtoon with a below average art. one story, in particular, stands out. it follows a ruthless assassin working for a powerful mafia family. he's a feared and cold figure who falls in love with a woman, only to later discover that she had been manipulating him the whole time. the plot has a Mr. and Mrs. Smith vibe.


the assassin's backstory is that, as a child, he returned home from a family trip to suspect their house had been broken into. a burglar had hidden in his closet, and although he knew the intruder was there, he never confronted him, choosing instead to lie under his blankets and fall asleep. that was the last time he ever felt fear, and from that moment, he swore never to let it consume him again. the title likely had the word 'dark' in it, and i think it was something like 'dark story' or something along those lines
