Also I can already see people complain this volume lacks direction. But the issue this volume is tackling in their development was stated in the first chapter.

The issue is senpai doesn’t value he and Morinaga’s limited time together. Because Morinaga is always working hard to come home so often. But now we can see that Morinaga having to leave early and them not spending the weekend together that senpai was anticipating is going to make senpai realise how much he takes for granted their time spent together.

He is feeling lonely without Morinaga, which Isogai picks up on. Him coming to value his time with Morinaga a lot more is development in their relationship, particularly since it’s kind of long distance relationship now, and the issue of valueing each others time is a issue all long distance relationships deal with at some point. Senpai has always taken his time with Morinaga for granted because Morinaga has always worked hard to be by his side. It’s good for him to learn to realise how much he was taking it for granted and for that to change.

HANDS DOWN fav panel of this chapter is Senpai making sure Morinaga doesn’t forget to eat, and handing him his food. He is worried about him, even shouts after him to not get into an accident in his rush. It’s just so...domestic. Like when they both say “I’m home” and “welcome back” to each other. Small actions that speak volumes. So many people can’t appreciate these sorts of small actions, always needing grand gestures to show affection but I think things like this is what makes their relationship feel so intimate and close :)

When Senpai tells Morinaga that Isogai is only staying for a night, and Mori is staying until Sunday, so it’s not a big deal. You can tell Senpai is also wanting to treasure their weekend togerher. He was being considerate about it, when Morinaga would be heading back and how long they’d have left together if Isogai spends a night. It wasn’t just something that he didn’t care about or gave no thought towards.

It’s very sweet in a very Senpai way.

Morinaga rushing back to the school to grab the papers senpai needs for his thesis. It was Morinaga showing his love in his very Morinaga way. He’s always going above and beyond to help Senpai <3

The last panels showing Senpai looking sad after Morinaga leaves. It was easy to figure out but these panels confirm it. Senpai was really looking forward to their weekend together as well, and missed Morinaga. He used to be so closed about their relationship, it’s nice seeing him so much more expressive about his feelings and their relationship, it shows on his face so easily that others can pick it up. Honestly at this point, everyone either knows or suspects about their relationship lol their relationship is like a not so secret secret. they’d be ready to confirm their relationship officially some point in the future I think
