Current emperor doesn't hurt the uke. But current uke remembers what the past emperor did and he was brutal, keeps mixing the past with the present.

Past Emperor seemed to have gone insane with jealousy at a misunderstanding, takes uke, mistreats him and at the end, cursed uke because he dies and leaves him (he may have committed suicide or was driven to it to save seme - something the emperor never got to know).

Current emperor killed concubines unconsciously it seems under the influence of his past self. His past self killed off his concubines to move up his lower ranking concubine (MC). But he doesn't hurt the MC in this lifetime.

    .............................................................................

First off, emperor in this lifetime doesn't harm the MC. As a matter of fact, the MC has hurt him on occasion when some of the brutality he endured in his past life flashes back before him. You see, they appear to inevitably repeat some situations that they lived through before but the emperor doesn't act as he did but he does keep falling more and more in love with the Main Character.

In the past life, emperor went to oversee some construction that our main character is in charge of and through their interactions the emperor becomes attracted to MC. He tries to move forward with MC one night and lets him know he wants him. MC rejects him and emperor backs off.

BTW, MC character is attracted to the emperor as well (maybe even loves him), however, MC's younger brother is in love with him and he raped him which I think might be why he rejects the emperor's advances in the first place. After, MC rejected the emperor, his younger brother tried to force himself on him again and MC gets away. He crosses paths with the emperor, who sees MC is disheveled and with hickeys allover his neck and chest and THIS causes the emperor to go Beast mode.

MC is dragged in to the emperor where he is humiliated and raped by him in the presence of his people/household. He is taken as a concubine and soon the emperor is obsessed with him and it seems like he wants to move him up the concubine ranks at the detriment of his other concubines. That past emperor reacts brutally and lethally to the MC escape attempts, rejections or if someone else derides MC or tries to hurt/touch him.

I really think THAT emperor went insane with jealousy. He thought MC had a love affair and that he had nothing to lose if he just wanted to possess MC. I am not sure he knew how deep his feelings ran for the MC and eventually he wanted the MC's love but he kept escalating and escalating til the point of no return.

Everything that happens in the past life is meant to be traumatic. Which explains why the MC acts the way he does to the current emperor who has not hurt him.

Current MC remembers the past life vividly as a curse from the emperor for committing suicide (he may have been poisoned and decided to kill himself to protect the emperor - since he was the plotters' goal). The current emperor doesn't have a clue.

When current life MC is brought to the slave camps, the emperor is intrigued by the hatred MC has for him since they have never met before.

You see, in this life, others are inadvertently hurting our MC and pushing him towards the emperor. MC is also raped by his brother in this lifetime and it looks like their father was aware and imprisoned him to stop him from tempting (I guess) the younger brother who is being married off. But the one that needs to be tied down is the younger brother, because he finds him and rapes him again and their father witnessed it. His solution, to sell off the MC to protect the younger son's marriage?!?! Not sure.

And so he crossed paths with the emperor.

And what is hopeful here is that this emperor acts completely different than the one from the past life. Situations get mimicked where the outcome was that our MC was hurt or tortured in his past life but this emperor is either loving or he backs off (I don't believe they have had sex, forced or otherwise in this lifetime. I think the little you see is from flashbacks of the past).

One example of this is when the emperor is trying once again to sleep with the MC (he keeps getting turned away or just doesn't get any) and he kisses the MC's ankle. This triggers a flashback where the past life MC had his ankle shattered by the emperor's order to prevent him from running away again. MC lashes out against the emperor from this lifetime and the emperor is taken aback but lets him be.

He also becomes desperate to have MC and orders his servants to bring him an aphrodisiac which MC refuses to take. When the emperor forcibly makes the MC drink the aphrodisiac, things start progressing as he wants but, before he gets as far as penetrating him you get a very long flashback of how the previous emperor fed this to the MC many times til the point MC became addicted, something that past emperor could see but didn't stop giving it to him because he wanted to keep having him and project the illusion that MC wanted him back. He only stopped when serious repercussions occur for MC's health.

Current MC lashed out again at the emperor, tries to kill himself and emperor starts getting flashbacks of the crap he did in the past, continuously and it triggers the sense of loss and regret the past emperor experienced. The current emperor leaves and tears don't stop running down his face. He also keeps getting flashbacks of the MC in their past life when they would interact while working together and how happy the MC was then and how much he wanted him to be like that again (showing the past emperor's regret for what he lost).

This emperor certainly isn't a saint, you saw that first chapter (though that's his past self acting while the current emperor is unconscious I guess) but now he is focused on protecting MC (maybe because the build up to their relationship didn't happen as before where he thought MC loved someone else - I think that blinded past emperor) and I think his past self is pushing through to help his current self to save MC from dangers ahead. He doesn't want to lose him again.

Though I went on and on, there is a lot more plot to this like court politics and assassination attempts, the emperor's young son, etc, etc. So I just gave you the main of what I understood from my very crappy google translation.

This hasn't been translated anywhere and Lezhin only has it in the Korean site. I love this story, so feel free to ask away because I want to talk about it. Also, link to raws if you are interested.

Shin April 14, 2020 2:06 am

The ML is a dick. We all know he probably has good reasons why he does and says all those hurtful things but damn, the way he treats the mc and how the mc just eats it all up like a starving baby bothers me so much. I know he's protecting the mc in his own way but did he really have to sleep with him? He writes it off as teaching the mc that sex doesn't equal love but deep down he already knows the mc loves him. Such a manipulative asshole.
(︶︿︶)=凸

As for the MC, he's indeed pitiful. He's also too weak emotionally. He blushes too easily. Whatever simple things the ML does for him, he eagerly eats it up. It's too painful to watch. Whatever happened to the 'stay away from me!' declaration and stuff??? He's too weak willed. It's obvious he's starving for affection. It's not his fault BUT he'll always get hurt (most probably by the ML ---- as usual) if this continues. Well, realistically speaking, anyway. But this is just a manhwa. They'll probably have a happy ending. It's no use worrying when the MC is already deeply in love and the ML is probably just waiting for the curse to vanish so that he can show his love or whatever. I don't really care for the ML at all. But ah, if only the mc would fall for someone better...

I'm not that patient tho so I'm dropping this

I have only read the first few chapters but basically, she will still end up with the prince who did cruel things to her in her first life? And according to some of the comments here, it's totally okay cuz the prince has a character development? He isn't the same anymore? One wrong move and he'll do the same lol also, I don't understand how mc can still fall for that guy again. Man, I don't wanna be that stupid when I fall in love. Don't understand how anyone could ship them tbh. I'll leave a SPOILER below that I got from tomaO2 on novelupdates. It's reaaaalllly long but has lots of good points. Also, reason why I'm dropping this shitty story lol

SPOOOOOOILER ALERT

Lets go over the reasons why Prince hated Tia in the first timeline, and why he loves her in the second.
-Prince's feelings seem to be his, and not influenced by the god of this world. I had assumed the mind control aspect would come up since Tia was apparently under that influence. Looks like that was a plot point that was quietly abandoned.
-Prince wasn't loved as a kid, everyone loves Tia (for now, after marriage, public opinion flips). Prince hates her because of this. This is confirmed. Boo hoo, prince, suck it up. When Tia is the one being hated later on, she doesn't whine about it like you are doing.
-Prince also hates Tia because she doesn't express emotions, and this is something I have an issue with, because there is a clear image of her when she was happy with the king, while the prince loomed in a creepy way. The fact is that the story already stated that her lack of visible emotions are directly tied to the prince being cold to her. He pulled away FIRST. Yet, apparently, after she found herself able to be happy again, seeing her with other people having fun caused him to love her? I don't buy it. That doesn't line up with what I've seen, and I question the idea that all he needs is to see some girl having fun and he'll just fall in love with her.
-Prince hates Tia because he was lied to, mainly by Duke "Jenna/Zena" (I have no idea who that is but he is apparently the primary villain for the story, not isekai girl). He was told that she wanted to become queen to gain more personal power, but in this timeline she tried to get out of it, so that means she is worth loving?. No, no, no. She was prophesied to become queen since she was a baby. She had no choice in the matter, she did it because she had to, just like HE had to, or so I assume he had to. If he really felt like he didn't want to marry her, it seems like he had options, given recent chapters talking about how other women are throwing themselves at him. It's garbage. The idea of Tia trying to avoid this fate is really almost unthinkable, and it really should have been respected by everyone, and I can't understand all the hatred for her simply doing what she was duty bound to do.
-Prince hates Tia because of the incident with her mother. I have been waiting for this. Turns out, it was ANOTHER assassination (god damn, there are a lot of these) and the mother died protecting Tia, not the prince. Whaaaaaa? He thought the mom liked him best, but turns out she decided to, poorly, defend the small child, and not the boy that can actually fight back. Given that prince was good enough to fight off the assassins, maybe he should man up and realize that he's the one supposed to be protecting the women instead? Just a thought.

Okay, that brings us up to the 1st timeline marriage.
-Apperently, prince secretly realized that Tia loved him at some point during the marriage. Clearly, he never articulated this to Tia though, so they continued in a cold, loveless marriage.
-Isekai girl shows up, and now things start going to hell. This seems the trigger point where everyone decided that Tia is no good anymore. Why though? She was in charge, she was the one doing all the work for everyone. Surely people would know that she is doing the work, Even the commoners have had time under her rule know her laws help. Plus, isekai girl has jack all knowledge of proper manners for a queen. Surely the other nobles would not like her. Commoners, on the other hand, I feel could be sucked into isekai girl, since she is far more personable than Tia was, but their opinions don't seem to be of much importance for the story, as far as I can tell. I don't think there is any reason for this massive a change in opinion against Tia.
-The reason he loves ikesai girl is because she said she loved him, and he is, apparently, super gullible to that due to no one saying those sorts of words to him. Apperently the actions Tia took that were winning him over just a little while ago are forgotten. I have to question this, because Tia has never said she loved him either, in either timeline. So why, again, is he in love with her this time around? Also, am I supposed to believe that with all these manipulative women around him that said the same thing, so why was it so damn effective coming from isekai girl? This doesn't hold up to me.
-Prince is now being poisoned, somehow, with drugs that alter his behavior, however, because he's always been an asshat, no one noticed that he was acting abnormally, I guess. How the hell is he being poisoned anyway? Let me get this straight. This royal family, that is so paranoid about poison that they can't even let people know what foods they like, is someone just gulping down poison that makes him crazy? BULLLLLL SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP.
-On top of the drugs, he also hears about how Tia is a bad person, which, frankly, shouldn't be new at all. As far as I can tell, he's always being told this sort of stuff (either people love her too much, or the opposite). However, now he hears that she also wants to assasinate isekai girl.
-Apperently in the book, just before the r*pe scene, he's making an effort to get her to be honest with him, but she basically thinks "I'm scared of you, I cannot be honest with you" and tells him "you won't believe me anyway" and Ruve goes "So you're basically admitting all the rumors about you are true." These bits are put in quotes, but they don't show up in the comic. As far as I can tell, there isn't a single conversation in the comic prologue where there is a double misunderstanding, that would be revealed later on in the story. Tia isn't really working under any false impressions, and wrong opinions about her seem to be entirely due to malice, not anything she's said or done in particular (other than not being emotional enough).
Anyway, because of all this, and NOT because of the mean way she had just treated isekai girl, he decides to r*pe her. I'm actually shocked by how little a part Isekai girl plays in this. I had assume that she was personally setting things up to make Tia look in a bad light but, as far as I can tell from spoilers, other than her pretending to love prince, she's been pretty straightforward in her dealings with Tia and Prince otherwise. A lot of people were trying to poison their relationship but I don't see anything in these spoilers that Isekai girl was one of them.
-The prince causes the miscarriage because of the drugs, and NOT because of him caring more about isekai girl at that moment when she sees him and Tia together. Such convenient drugs that can be used to blame for everything bad he did while also keeping him lucid enough to still care after he caused the issue.
-No reason given for prince to avoid seeing her for X amount of time while Tia recovered, even though we are supposed to believe he was worried about her at the time and feeling guilty over causing the miscarriage..
- Prince gets pissed off when he hears about Tia laughing about her miscarriage. This is horribly portrayed in the comic. She went "days or weeks" alone, keeping her emotions bottled in, and only laughed the day that she found out that isekai girl was pregnant (also because she found out that Prince was making a much bigger deal about this baby then he did hers). Plus, her father showed up right at that point and he decided right then that he would do something about his daughter. So the timing just does not work out.
-Even more confusing was that an assassination attempt was done around this time by the villian on isekai girl, and villain blamed Tia. ARE THERE NOT GUARDS IN THIS WORLD? So many assassinations.
-This entire section is a total mess, even the spoiler says so, but, whatever, prince is mad at Tia for apparently being glad her baby miscarried, and lied about killing her father to teach her a lesson. Unfortunately, Tia was also given the same drugs as the prince (when???), so she tried to kill him. Can't she just have snapped? IF she was really being driven crazy by drugs, there is no possible way she would have stopped after doing a single stab wound. Not after everything she went through. These drugs are a really hamfised plot device to make everyone blameless.
-Prince actually didn't want to execute her, but was outvoted, and so is killed without knowing her father was actually alive, because they decided to not let him near her at all before the execution?
-The last thing Tia sees is the prince before dying, and she wonders why he looks so concerned for her, which is a clever hint that he actually didn't want to kill her. No, wait, when I look back, he looked remarkably unconcerned and smug that she was about to die. There is NO foreshadowing in this, none.

-After Tia dies, things go downhill Prince regrets his actions, now that things are going to shit, and notices that even if isekai girl says she loves him she never really showed her love like Tia did. Such as by finding out his favourite foods AFTER marriage (does this mean your own wife can't even be told what foods you like??? She really had to figure it out herself? Yet, all this paranoia helps not at all vs being poisoned, so what was the point of it. For added pointless drama? Got it). He then starts comparing her to Tia, and calling her useless. It was basically as another person said, he only knew how good he had it until all the support Tia gave him was no longer there. WAY too late. I can see why previous spoilers stated that he only cared about Tia due to how incompetent isekai girl is. He NEVER appreciated the work she did, never cared to make sure isekai girl learned her role, and then, as soon as Tia died, he starts bitching about how she's not as good as Tia. Kinda like how everyone said how HE wasn't as good as Tia back in the day. Remember how that bothered you Prince? Why are you doing the same thing to her now? How the hell did he forget how much work Tia did for the kingdom anyway? Useless Prince.
-Prince and isekai girl die from the villain's plot that finally finished. Isekai girl hated how she was trashed by everyone, and decided to come back and be a proper empress and get revenge on everyone that wronged her. As far as I can tell, she was an absolute victim during the first timeline, and I don't fault her wanting to get back at those that wronged her.

-Back to second timeline. The most critical thing to note about this one is, as far as spoilers go, there are NO DRUGS USED ON ANYONE. Seems extremely odd to not have this happen, given that drugs were to blame for literally every bad thing someone did after isekai girl appeared, yet now there is no drugs making people crazy. This again makes the drugs seem like a terrible plot point to justify bad actions and to make Prince blameless, so that it's okay that he marries Tia.
-Prince loves Tia, doesn't even look at isekai girl. Plots happen, Prince and Tia end up married Since Tia stolen the prince's heart away and none of isekai girl's plans worked out. She eventually gave up her powers in order to save Tia's life at the end. This wasn't enough to do much more than to secretly let her be banished, instead of killed.
-Apperently, Tia is also a child of god, so the prophasy DOES also refer to her (so why did that god say the opposite when she asked?), so she was destined to marry the prince after all, and isekai girl was just a complete failure that god decided to abandon, so she goes to another country and lives out her life as a peasant girl.

A couple (slightly negative) things about these spoilers first:

    they seem to be saying that Jaeun should be defended from the consequences of her actions (which I disagree with) for the same reasons Ruve should not be defended (which I agree with). Jaeun whined about her life in the first timeline even though she's not the one who really got the short end of the stick. But decides she needs to get revenge for herself? Her actions show that she certainly deserved the resentment to some extent even at the same time she also certainly knew Tia's actions were above reproach;

    These spoilers also pass the buck on blame in one circumstance like they accuse the rest of the story of doing with Ruve and his unconscionable actions. After all, if Ruve has no right to feel resentment (which I agree with) simply because he was pushed aside while the one who was more defenseless was protected instead (which is what the spoiler poster seems to be suggesting and is the only part I don't agree with here), then that's the same as saying Tia has no right to feel resentment about being pushed aside when the one who is least capable is doted on more. So no the reason Ruve doesn't have any right to feel resentment towards Tia over that is because *it's not her fault that she was the one who needed protection the most*;

All the rest of the spoiler poster's points I agree with.

Now onto your own post: people really need to stop equating stupidity with feelings. It demonstrates they can't seem to grasp the obvious fact that that makes anyone stupid for having feelings that they can't control, y'know such as gay men being sexually attracted to other men, a common tactic used by homophobics? Who wants to be associated with homophobic people? I certainly don't. T.

    LinZhen April 12, 2020 3:38 am

Although your point about how, with one wrong move, Ruve would certainly have turned out to be pretty much the same is much appreciated. It exposes the lie that Ruve has actually changed. The only reason he changed? Is because she changed. It fits with the lie that victims deserve the abuse they get if they can't modify their behavior in accordance with the demands their abuser places on them rather than expecting, as we should, that the abuser should be the one to modify THEIR behavior.

Oh, I get your point. I'm certainly not homophobic since I'm a fujoshi lol idk why you're comparing her getting back together with the man who were cruel to her in the past (cuz that's what I meant when I implied she was being stupid) to gay people being gay?? Oh sure, he's changed and her feelings are valid (altho something I don't understand) but her actions of accepting him again after that traumatic experience are just something I can't fathom and just screams "stupidity" in my opinion. Basically, what I'm trying to say, her feelings are something she can't control but what she does after that is something she can control. Well, mostly, anyway. But hey, to each their own.

Well, thank goodness, I didn't reach that point. I dropped this as soon as I saw the spoiler lol As for the novel, sorry, man. I'm not really sure. There is a translated chapter on novelupdates but it's like only one chapter and it was translated way back 2018.

    Tobe April 12, 2020 12:44 pm

Oh now I think I finally get it what is the author finally portraying in the story outline, but oh well just maybe tho? Ive been thinking about it so here's my understanding...

In the FIRST TIMELINE, the sovereignty ruling of Prince Ruve and the isekai girl JiEun, fells to ruin when he died coz of the aristocrat factions schemes.

    There are THREE FACTIONS:
    ROYAL
    NOBILITY
    ARISTOCRAT

But the Dukes, and Marquess are loyal followers of the Royalty, especially the Marquess Clan which is the House La Monique.. So the Aristocrat has been long aiming the ruin of House La Monique. When the Aristocrat managed to do so, thats when everything gone into chaos and awry for Prince Ruve. When the Royalty fell, the Aristocrat wins. ( Tho there's bugging me the fact that, even if Prince Ruve dies, isnt there still the Royal Princess the younger sister of the previous Emperor, whom is the mother of Carsein and the wife of Duke Arkint? so theres still successor of the Royal throne right? )

    BTW, BACK TO THE TOPIC..

SO when Prince Ruve dies with Isekai girl, everything else fells into ruin. Of course, the Aristocrat wont let pass by the loyal followers of the Royal Clan right?

So thats when the GOD VITA changed his Plan.. GOD VITA ALLOWS TIA TO CARVE HER OWN FATE AND LEAD HER OWN PATH in the guise of saying God Vita would gift her another name PIONEER. In short.. Aristia Pioneer La Monique is God Vita's another insurance or trump card by making her an Empress Candidate if anything goes awry for Prince Ruve. God Vita planned to abandon Isekai Girl because she's a failure as an Empress..

Which is to say, Tia avoiding the Prince and becoming the House La Monique Successor was the correct choice of path. The Aristocrat doesnt need to drug brainwashing Prince Ruve coz Tia doesnt want the throne, and Prince Ruve realise this sooner so both of them avoided the brainwashing scheme which plays the biggest part and cause the success of the scheme.

And because theyre not on the influence of brainwashing, Prince Ruve realised his love for Tia, sooner (i think Prince Ruve loved Tia in the first timeline, sadly its too late when he realizes this) and also because of Tia avoiding him, he remembers and realizes early that its his fault Tia turns to lose her will to show her emotions.

And because the path that Tia chosed for herself is the correct one, Prince Ruve falls for her deeply early on before JiEun appears and before Aristocrats begin theyre move, so eventually... Prince Ruve and Tia managed to successfully overcome their schemes.. And ended up being together and married once again.

Overall, Tia is the key and Tia falls for God Vita's manipulating scheme once again.
