Posting this here if people are confused
CP 1: Suyong (orange hair) and Jaehyun (black hair)
CP2/CP3: Sungtaek (tall dude), Norman (short dude), Minwoo (long grey hair), Cheoljin (black hair-blue eyed)
The CORE complicated/hating relationship/misunderstandings are between Minwoo, Cheoljin and Jaehyun
Minwoo and Jaehyun knew each other from childhood (when Jaehyun was moving back and forth between Seoul and where Minwoo lived).
Minwoo and Cheoljin know each other from middle school and high school in Seoul (sorry if this is a spoiler). Jaehyun I think joins the same school (middle school and high school)
Minwoo:
- hates/loves (?) Cheoljin bc he thinks Cheoljin was playing and using him the whole time, esp when Cheoljin disappeared (I think around high school) and broke his heart
- hates Jaehyun bc of some misunderstanding (we don't fully know yet, but it's suggested that he caused something to him and Cheoljin's relationship).
Cheoljin
- HATES Jaehyun (again, we don't fully know yet), but C especially hates "thieves" (remember, Jaehyun stole his money at ktv) and "people who play victim" (thinks Jaehyun is using Suyong)
- how he feels towards Minwoo is *spoilers* bc right now in the story we believe Minwoo and think Cheoljin is playing with him. But happy to spoil if anyone wants~
Jaehyun
- HATES Cheoljin (thinks he's manipulative; remember, he flirted with Jaehyun back in high school even though Jaehyun knew he had a thing with Minwoo)
- towards Minwoo, it's complicated. formerly (with Suyong) was angry bc Minwoo was deliberately spreading bad rumors about him and hitting on Suyong. but now, might actually want to help Minwoo bc he still remembers how Minwoo defended him in their childhood. In middle/high school, Jaehyun knew Minwoo had a crush on Cheoljin and thought about helping out. But later/now, probably thinks he's helping Minwoo by keeping Cheoljin away.
OTHER CONNECTIONS
Suyong and Cheoljin were BFF in high school (hence the drama of Jaehyun "not liking Suyong's friends" + Cheoljin trying to "expose" Jaehyun to Suyong in earlier chapters)
- one of Suyong's friends (the bald-ish guy) did NOT like Cheoljin and thought Cheoljin was using Suyong. Ends up stabbing (?) C though we don't know fully why
Norman and Sungtaek knew each other as kids.
OK! let me know if you have other questions. esp for spoilers about Minwoo and Cheoljin I could write an essay about them

things aren't 100% confirmed since we still haven't gotten cheoljin's pov BUT imo it's clear that cheoljin really really really likes minwoo ;~; like he actually is very intensely quietly suffering rn with minwoo liking norman...later on minwoo treats him pretty badly during sex (cheoljin feels nothing while bottoming finds it painful/triggers his OCD-ish tendencies + minwoo is rough) but he hides all of it from minwoo even manipulates the situation so that minwoo doesn't notice him bleeding ;~;) basically he's the type to quietly endure and hide ALL of his struggles and emotions so it causes all kinds of misunderstandings...the issue with him is that he's TOO good at hiding his emotions - even with this latest english chapter cheoljin is likely insecure about how minwoo is judging where he's living rn and hurt by how minwoo is demanding his help with norman but he's just quietly "...." + tries to manipulate the situation so no one catches it
but like cheoljin is also absolutely kind of insane, controlling and manipulative LMAO his personality is so fascinating (one of my favs in all of BL)--- lowkey i feel like he thinks him and minwoo never broke up and that minwoo is "cheating" on him rn fjsalkdjf anyways there are tons of misunderstandings between them that are only hinted but it's likely class related. all signs show that he comes from a super poor family (rougher than jaehyun), was basically boy-mom to younger siblings -- to this day minwoo seems to have no clue about his circumstances? idk minwoo definitely has blind spots, including when it comes to his own privilege. (so those hints in previous chapters about how cheoljin went through a hard time in HS and worked a billion jobs...that was when he "betrayed" minwoo somehow (through minwoo's pov) so we know something probably went down then). ...so the misunderstanding between him and minwoo is likely stemming from a lot of issues linked to cheoljin hiding his circumstances, his attempt to be "equal" to minwoo, but also his naturally hyper-rational, controlling personality and manipulativeness (that he relied on to survive all this time)

they're actually at PEAK misunderstanding right now in the story in a very toxic cycle ;~;
rn it's basically like: anything Cheoljin says/does (even when he's being honest)--> Minwoo "this fucker is manipulating and lying again" lashes out and is angry --> Cheoljin gets more desperate and possessive, so becomes more manipulative and also hides his hurt by putting on an act --> Minwoo "this asshole is ALWAYS LYING" etc etc
in the recent chapters we have minwoo leaving cheoljin alone after VERY rough sex...cheoljin hid he was hurt and was like let's have lunch together! and then minwoo make a false accusation accusing cheoljin of stealing the hairband that norman gave him. cheoljin's patience definitely snapped and he revealed his (lowkey scary) side - but then regretted it and is obviously upset when minwoo leaves. now minwoo is ranting to an upperclassman about cheoljin lmao there's a lot of memories from when they were in middle school
things are probably going to have to blow up before they get better tbh...they're definitely the most intense relationship out of the three and they kind of drag everyone (like jaehyun) into their mess hahaha

there are quite a few scenes before that are mixed with norman but i would say 149 is around where it becomes focused on cheoljin and minwoo and then around 152 that's when there are a lot flashbacks from their past (from minwoo's pov) (and they have super drawn out sex where it's hard to tell who will top fjldkas) https://newtoki468.com/webtoon/42178998?toon=BL%2FGL

as someone caught up with the raws, the thing with this manhwa is being patient - the author has like a 100year plan. everything we learn about a character is often told through a specific pov or a mix of misunderstandings, hearsay, etc - sometimes it's true, but it's always a one-sided viewpoint. and then the author will eventually reveal the other side/the other story that explains why certain characters behave a certain way.
i know this manhwa drags on (especially when everyone's learned to expect instant gratification in this genre) but the character writing is actually amazing - probably one of the best in this genre. the author has a really strong sense of how people's personalities are shaped by their circumstances - their past, their family, class.
you kind of saw it with the first CP - jaehyun's shame towards his poverty causing him to act with insecurity, etc. but the first couple was definitely the least controversial haha like everyone hating on sungtaek (bc we just see him acting like a creep)...and then everyone hates on cheoljin (bc we know him only through Minwoo's own limited perspective). i think when the author eventually reveals their circumstances to explain their behavior it's not to excuse them, but to explain. no one is perfect in this series, some are more complicated than others. And the author is a firm believer that true love is when you can embrace even people's flaws and ugliness - kind of when cheoljin said how norman might choose to embrace sungtaeok even when he learns he's a stalker. emotions are messy and complicated.
ANYWAYS as someone reading the raws (right now we're at Minwoo and CHeoljin's story - basically the MOST intense and complicated one) its so funny seeing k-fans swing in support every time new information is released - like "wow ofc minwoo couldn't trust cheoljin" (next chapter) "minwoo you privileged blind idiot, how could you act like this to your wife" (next chapter) "poor cheoljin...everything would be solved if you just cried" (next chapter) "cheoljin you bastard why are you like this"..

Thank you for this comment… I felt this way with the first couple as they started to dig deeper, so I’m gonna give it an honest effort. I like to wait and read a minimum 10 chapters at a time and that helps elevate a lot of confusion. But I do agree with you of how great the authors writing style is. I feel like those who are confused may mostly be skimming for smut lol

yay so glad to hear that! yea i think waiting can be a good plan haha the author's way of storytelling is very indirect but I think that's what makes it impressive and so unique - but it is kind of a shame that the indirectness + length makes it hard for people to keep up (and yes ofc ppl just looking for smut doesn't help).

it's been forever since i read this but ahh the character writing really is amazing i like both of them very much. kon with his kind of straightforward frankness and kindness and hayakawa being much more complicated but also earnest about what he loves (also such a petulant gremlin vs. that "prince" thing he had at the beginning lol)...i love that their relationship grows organically and they learn about more sides of each other. i especially like how the author portrayed the way you can feel envious and annoyed at someone but still like them very much...hayakwa suffering through unrequited love vs kon arriving at his conclusion on his own terms? just so nicely and subtly done..japanese mangas really do hit differently

in the most manic state i feel kind of crazy right now...just amazing omg

also both mother and daughter have such an assortment of puppy-like guys around them...i'm really scared for geon-ha like i know he's definitely going to get hurt but all i can hope for is that he doesn't die/isn't permanently damaged or traumatized (yes that's the best one can hope for with this manhwa..)

manipulative (but sweet), too clever for his own good (but also kind of dumb), complicated (but pure), dominating (but also so self-sacrificing), etc etc...i adore prideful characters who would rather d/e than show any vulnerability and who smile through life while being a hot mess inside. any chance someone has caught up with the raws bc i feel like i'm always screaming into the void re. him and minwoo...it can't just be me and k-twt talking about how we need to see cheoljin cry (narratively and hornily)

brett's gift (aka the dead bird/this whole revenge scheme) being misaligned with what the person actually wants (his brother's fear/hayden's shock) - his capacity for self-sacrifice in a way that is utterly detached towards his mental/physical wellbeing while ALSO not being able to comprehend what it means to treat hayden as an equal in this relationship. so like deep devotion but also hyper-rationality at the expense of empathy. meanwhile hayden DOES live in fantasy; brett is right that hayden didn't grasp what it meant to truly SEE him and accept him as a whole, and hayden is learning that the hard way. of course, hayden is also right to be confused and hurt - like huh? i didn't ask for any of this??
brett getting nauseas and dizzy when hayden hugs him after learning of his SA - hello repressed trauma, hello intense fear of vulnerability....
anyways, i actually think that hayden will need to be the one to aggressively pursue brett next season. (first season, it felt like brett being the more active party; second season it felt like they were more equal but operating with fundamental misunderstanding (they were going on fun, hayden-worldview dates + but brett was doing his own thing secretly) third season i think hayden will need to figure out what it means to accept brett as a whole and what it means to be brett's equal. i think atp brett feels "seen" and "rejected" by hayden; he's hurt by hayden being scared/upset by his "true" self so i don't see him actively going back to hayden anytime soon.
IMO hayden will tap into his more aggressive side. he might even resort to force. because i think fundamentally brett needs violence/force as well; gentleness isn't enough for him. we've deviated from some darkness so i would like to tap back into that darkness ;) i think the ending where hayden slams his against the wall is pretty indicative. also i think professionally, hayden will level up (become an actor) and become more of an "equal" to brett.
so damn good every relationship is so twisted and messed up and emotionally charged like DMAN i thought i wouldn't be able to get invested in characters outside of jin and charin but here we are..this author needs to be rewarded with tons more praise and adulation i will try to support them financially..
