He is the best Dad in term of affection but children didn't only need affection, they also need to be protected. He knew his daughter being bullied by her cousin but all he does just complain and when his brother brush it off as 'child play', he really didn't do anything else. He think by laying low, he would be safe but he never think what's gonna happen to his daughter if the Grandfather or him is dead, in an era even when sibling kill each other for the power he is too laid back. Even when he is alive, she is being mistreated. Thankfully in the second timeline, Shenanet open his eyes that he can't protect anything by running away.
Absolutely agree. He's a great person and clearly loves his daughter soo much but part of caring for your kid is making sure they'll be okay with or without you. He was too timid in his past life to stand up for his defenseless daughter, only now that she's time traveled and helps him out has he started to show independence. Its kinda sad how, now that she knows how to take care of herself, her dad will protect her but in her past life when she was actually just a child, he let people step all over them.

As i read from the novel, he is not a royal blood but instead made the beloved lover and youngest son of the emperor hostage. I think the house of the Emperor's lover (she's a nobility but her house are full of debt from the Grand duke Heinrich) so their house were kinda annex and she can't escape from it coz she's afraid too for her young son. The emperor was also afraid that her beloved woman and son will get hurt so when the grand duke said that he wants to be a candidate for the throne though not a from royal family, the Emperor said yes.
He's somewhat a relative (i forgot as well) who's also a possible heir to the throne

well, in fact he has a royal blood.. but they are not a direct descendants (because the temple didn't recognize them as direct descendants) so even though they have royal bloods, they have no right to inherit the throne..
(when he was introduced as someone who is also a candidate for the throne) they're referring to his "royal blood" but without the temples blessing and recognition he still couldn't be the king..

god I really really like this story, I hate how they treat Eris but the pain I feel for her is so satisfactory like idk how to explain it lol, i just really like this kind of stories.
