I want him. To go back and tell the people he loves. Like his friends and family. And tell them. That he loves them and that this is goodbye. And then to go back and live a happy life with the person he loves.
Also, if he thinks about how his mother died for his sake, then maybe he should think of it like her giving him the opportunity to find love and live on. She died for him. She loved him. So he should realize that she died for his sake, so he could live a happy life with no worries. That's why she died the way she did. And even if that is erased she dies in a different way, that it doesn't change the fact that she still deeply loved her son, like the amazing mother she was. She'd die either way, and even if kouichi never existed, if she knew she had died before for her son that she loved, I'm sure she wouldn't be too upset about that. There's reason for him to stay (living the happy life full of love and no worries that his mother worked so hard for him to have) and there's reason for him to go (his friends and family, his uncle) but if he never goes back then what's the point of the manga? And either way, if he goes back, would he be able to simply forget the man he established such a deep connection with? He never forgot his mother, who he loved and was loved so much by, and when he lost her he wasn't quite so happy. It's not the same as the bond between mother and child, but he has a two-way bond with caius, and caius isn't dead, so not only would kouichi be sad, so would caius. And they both know that. His mother is gone and sacrificed herself for him so she can't be feeling sad (unless from heaven but there's nothing that can be done) but leaving caius on his own will would just leave the both of them hurting. He'd be abandoning caius and all the people he became friends with to feel loss similar to what he felt when his mother died (not the loss of a mother, but still loss for someone they care about, which he has felt before and knows how hard it is.) anyways, there's reason for him to stay, and there's reason for him to go, but i just hope they find a way to work it out. sorry this was so long lol kinda ranting here
I think what he meant by he'd wanted to kill them before they were born was because he didn't want them to live the life he knew they'd have? Like, he's the emperor, he knew full well what other nobles would think of the "impure" noble children, but he also knew Rurahel was a lil bitch, and that she wouldn't be an... ideal mother, to say the least. Also, he clearly wouldn't want to copulate with a woman like that, so of course he wouldn't want those kids that came from a literal demon. But now that they're alive, I think he feels guilty knowing those kids have done nothing wrong and yet they had to experience such terrible lives because of him, and now that they're older he sees killing them as wrong, since they aren't at fault for anything and it's their mother who's the bad one. At least, it's probably that way if he's actually a decent human being. If not, then he can just go to fucking hell, but maybe he's just a guy who's done something bad and is feeling guilty, wishing he'd killed them before they had the opportunity to experience such a difficult life? I hope that's the case so I don't have to climb through my screen and strangle him to death...
Nooooo, you're dropping it? Well, I understand, and I can't force you to keep going (obviously). If you're not satisfied with it, it's not like you should have to keep doing it. Thank you so much for what you've done so far, and sharing it with me so I can know such a good manga. I really hope someone can pick this up because I love it so much! And thanks again!
