I like this series because you can really kinda see where each of them is coming from, even though obviously some will favor the perspective character.
Gunjoon's anxiety is making him assume and catastrophize. Jungseok thinks the only problem in their relationship is that he might be going to hard in bed.
Both of them have valid reasons for thinking these things. People don't go around clearly explaining their thoughts and asking direct questions. If they did, we'd have no story. I think the troubles in this relationship are completely within realistic miscommunication.
Also? I think Jungseok's answer as to why they are in a relationship is a completely fine answer. But I also see why it's the wrong answer for Gunjoon who is in the middle of catastrophizing. I have medicated anxiety. So like, lol, I have the superpower of understanding the anxiety brain and the correctly calibrated brain.
A non-anxiety brain could follow that up with "Well I want more than fun in a relationship, can we do that?", but the anxiety brain? The anxiety brain decides a LOT about what that answer means. Anxiety is a confirmation bias machine. Gunjoon assumes "Fun" to be just wild sex. "Fun" in a relationship could mean so much more. Fun dates, fun conversations, finding fun in small moments. But Gunjoon hears that and his anxiety goes "Ah, so he is really just a fuckboy like the rumors say."
