I think it has less to do with him and more to do with how hurt and relatable the FL can be. That and he isn’t flaunting anything and keeps apologizing so it kind of takes the steam out of things and makes it hard to have closure and a clean break. In some ways the mean asshole is better bc then you can be like f u and I’m done with that a hole now. Clean break you cry and move on
