I love this story, but how are you gonna tell me that TEA fixes all their damn social, medical, and political problems
Actually, I'm surprised the opium was a problem in this world just yet.
In our world, it was the lust for tea that CAUSED the opium wars in the orient.
China was originally very strict about letting tea out of the country, so smugglers began trading opium for tea. This led to wide spread corruption as drug lords either corrupted or out right became officials. The opium trade became an open secret and all for Britain's desire for tea.
Britain took over India for spices and poisoned china for tea.
Since tea wasn't super popular in her world yet, I thought the opium wouldn't be an issue yet.
I think about this every time I read it. like realistically how is tea gonna solve all their problems?? even if tea taste good some people might still hate it or some people will have too much pride to admit and in the end relations won't be fixed by the delicious friendship tea. there are so many things that can't be fixed by tea but Chloe always finds away which is so weird... like I know this is about tea but can't they be a little realistic and be like oh the tea didn't work this time that sucks oh well we try something different and move on
What th-
Well THAT did a quick 180.
