Didn't expect everyone to be weirded out lol. The only part I didn’t like was after the fantasies/seeing them confused in public. EMBARRASSING.
Also y’all, this is the land of make-believe where everything works out and everyone is happy with the outcome. (In this manga, at least.) It’s not realistic. If it puts you off, stop reading for your own sake!
I like Harada’s work, i’m really into psychological and fucked up writing bc it gets ya thinking. However, the point of the story kind of got lost with me. It was difficult to tell if it’s in support of pedophilia or against. If you take the story at face value, i’d say it seems in support. But the thing is, Yui and Kei never were “happy”? If they really wanted to show support i’d assume they’d give some sort of happy ending (not that that’s common in Harada’s work lol) But instead it looks like their life continued to go to shit. Which is probably more realistic, considering the fact that their entire relationship is built on unhealthy methods of “coping” with their own trauma. So is the point that pedophilic relationships are dysfunctional (which id agree with), or that their relationship worked out fine, but the continued problems are caused by societies view on them? It gets me thinking that in some reality this is the Bad Ending, and the Good Ending is them both getting some fuckin therapy (actual therapy, not some “correctional” shit) and facing their trauma.
Also yknow what, isn’t Yui an adult by the end of the story? Doesn’t that mean their relationship is legal lol. Still definitely does not make it feel right or healthy in any way at all. oof
Also Maiki or whatever her name is is a Lesbian let’s fucking goooooo. (kinda predicted it from that scene where Yui was confessing, she nearly mentioned it.)
Every time I finish a chapter I take a bite out of my bedframe once a day until the next update. Please update urgently and marry them lest I start sleeping on the hardwood floor
