Why tho? That kind of biased view isn't new in that time. Have you forgotten that the MC is in a olden fantasy world? Obviously, people would have traditional views and the MC made it pretty obvious with the fact that the first thing she did there was to disguise herself, so she knows how biased that society is.
Besides relying on a man (Heil(≧∀≦)) might be the push she needs to realize that she can share her secrets with the others. She's been very independent since the beginning but her physical capabilities will eventually limit her. I don't mind her getting protected if it saves her life obviously.
Exactly. There are some females who are very physically strong or have the fighting skills to make up the size difference, but that isn't our main character (especially if you consider the fact that Japanese people have a tendency to be naturally smaller). She is amazing, independent, and strong, but she isn't physically strong; there's nothing wrong with that. The older lady is just worried about her; she isn't forcing her to do anything. I'm sad people are hating on her. She has done a lot to help Souma.
