I love how the author is progressing the plot. Like at Yeongguk's current stage in life, it makes sense that he's finally struggling with the whole reality of his situation (including the past). It was easier to be optimistic and jolly when you're younger, but now he's reached the tipping point wherein he needs to establish his 'real' self amongst his previous and current selfs (ironically, a fitting struggle for an actor who plays many roles). Its gonna be painful but it'll get better Yeongguk, hang in there
