This was... what the hell..?! The main guy was a total assh*le. He just kept the guy's hopes up while he just slept around and always blamed others. In my opinion he was simply selfish and pathetic.

Yeah, I agree about the main character. But I really loved the seme.
I can see why you'd dislike the uke, he actually did act like an asshole at times, but he didn't do it with ill intent. He's a really weak character who's easily being pushed around by temptations, and he's hurt the seme for quite some time.
But I think that's exactly what makes this manga special: It's not about your typical yaoi princes who first rape and, in the end, love each other. It's also not a sparkly fairy tale where life is all chocolate and butterflies. It's about human beings who, in their most realistic way, come to care for one another. It's heartbreaking, yes, it's even annoying, but still, it's beautiful.
There's a sequel. It's better but still screwed up. :)
