jasper found hart's journal where he wrote that he's too lucky so whenever he tries to kill himself he can't die, so he realized hart is trying to switch luck with him so he can succeed in suicide once high school ends, because hart's mom told him she wanted to see him graduate
jasper asked him if they can go on a trip after grad knowing he planned to kill himself, and when hart didnt answer he got upset because he knew that he's sticking to his original plan
so he's on "strike" so that hart cant kill himself
