Dickrick finally comes to his senses huh.. not that he had much to begin with. I was surprised he was hypnotized or whatever tf was going on cause honestly the whole bringing yvonne to the party bit really seemed like something hed do normally .tsk tsk
Okay so I don't want to be a know it all here but he's actually not the only one who was hypnotized! Reynold (or Reynard idk his name) was also impacted by the hypnosis at some point! Which is why one time he snapped at Penelope when she was in the forest with Yvonne! He cites that he had an extremely viseral nightmare where Penelope did something to Yvonne and it influenced his reaction that day. I think all of the male leads get hypnotized a little including Callisto since he said for some odd reason he felt that he couldn't stand her until he saw her on her birthday! Very interesting to me so I yapped a bit there...

How fast they snap out of it is based off of how much they truly seek to understand and care about her as a person is what I've found! Characters like Reynard, Callisto, and Winter actually care about her as people. Her relationship to them really has warmed them up to her and caused them to really view her as a person so because their memories of her deeply conflict with the version of her that the hypnosis puts forth, it causes them to break out of it rather quickly. I think Derek to some degree has learned about her a lot more but the issue is that he is still at a distance with her because Reynard's conflicts with her in the beginning caused him to have to change his perception of her since it didn't match up. Derek on the other hand, maintained a distance from her so he doesn't have any memories to speak of that could contradict the hypnosis. I think he should have broken out of it regardless considering she was very OBVIOUSLY unlike the original Penelope even during their short exchanges, but plotwise, it makes sense in the story. Eclis, on the other hand, was hypnotized but in a complex different way, since I believe it just leveraged his desire to have her rather than changing his perception of her. He was never going to be Yvonne's knight, but using the mirror piece that came from that one quest with Winter, Yvonne probably showed him a future he preferred. I'm still talking about this haha. it's so interesting to observe how the hypnosis affects all the characters.
I do agree that the blind support for Yvonne was a little annoying though! He could have been happy that Yvonne came back and acknowledge that Penelope isn't horrible considering both him and Reynold were probably having the same dreams from the old game.
