Wouldn’t shock me if Guwon rewrites the law for Teach later on. But, the community's already brain-deep in their cult of punishment. They’ve committed so hard to the "every crime equals death” mindset that changing now would feel unfair to them. Like mercy’s some kind of betrayal because they followed the rules.
Kinda like real life tbh. You’ve got people out here screaming “I suffered, so you should too!” any time someone tries to make life slightly less hellish.
That's not to say I'm defending Guwon. He's definitely the reason that the system works like that. I need MOARRR (╯°Д °)╯╧╧

Ok what the actual fuc....I was way off. I’m not about to defend Guwon and the toxic cesspool he created, but I honestly didn’t expect to find the townspeople’s behavior kind of... understandable?
That said, just cuz I get why they acted the way they did doesn’t mean it's excusable. They weren’t doing what was right. They were just trying not to piss off their so-called protector. The whole town ran on fear, wrapped in a sad little illusion of safety. It’s not real peace, just survival with a smile slapped on.
Also I’m not convinced the doctor loved his family as much as he claimed. Like, if I watched the guy who’s supposedly protecting us crush my entire family to death and I just... carried on? No way. Personally, I’d be out. Permanently. But that’s just me. (づ￣ ³￣)づ
