In chapter 40, we haven't seen the father's reaction after Ji Hwan's mother killed herself. Ji Hwan is sad or even detached after seeing her corpse beside him in the morning. The secretary says to Ji Hwan that his mother is sick and his father did all he can. Ji Hwan thinks to himself that mother not died because of illness, she died because she wanted to die.
