So that knight guy will only become 99% and stop there. It was explained rhat it wasn't true love, more like obsessive love. She used him and he "liked being used". And some other complicated major spoiler stuff happened but i wont explain that hahaah it's too long... but you can read the novel it's already fully translated ^-^
So that's mean 'real daughter' who got 100% love from almost all male characters actually gor obsessive love and not true love

I agree! He didn’t “allow it” to happen. Bennett, against an unreasonable, tyrannical emperor couldn’t do anything. And it’s not his fault.
You can say that he was complicit, but “allow” wouldn’t really be right. It wasn’t something he could NOT allow. He tried to convince the POS emperor to use Selena, but failed. Additionally, the sacrifice WOULD have been for the greater good. It would help the thousands of innocent people suffering from the attacks in the emperor.

However, I'd like to also say that he KNEW the better choice would be Selena because even he brought it up. Meaning! He knew there might be a kickback, a slight miscalculation to the sacrifice because she was an "impure" daughter. Thus, despite knowing there was the possibility of a failed sacrifice, despite being forced, he also forced Ludis to be sacrificed without a 100% success rate. He was forced but he also forced Ludis to be a sacrifice and did so with the possibility of the greater good not even being in the equation because the sacrifice failed anyway.
Hmmm... I don't know now lol. Because I find your standing to be also valid in addition to the others who hate him. Yes, compliance is not often done by choice. But isn't it completely justified for people to be angry at someone who almost killed a girl to cry a simple apology? Hmmm... ahaha again, I'm not trying to start a fight. Also! I know that being someone with power and being in charge comes with a lot of responsibilities. But that's the tricky part of being such a person. Getting a slap on the wrist is often the consequences and it often ends like that. I'm not saying he is to be blamed and should be punished. But I think it's completely valid for his reputation and the trust of people in such people like Bennet to fall. It's definitely NOT his fault but to completely disregard his faults and involvement with a teary apology is... not enough for a lot of people... he was compliant in abuse and murder (in the name of a sacrifice for the greater good). That's difficult to come to terms with... do the ends justify the means, that's the question he faced and a lot of people have a problem with the "means" in this case...
