They changed it from the novel.. She's not supposed to know that until much later.. and that's not how they left her..
The despair she felt when she had to escape on her own was removed here.. like the WoahMama said, the soldiers felt sorry for her.. the feeling she had and all that she has gone through to escape was left out.. it was significant cause that was the reason she was able to clear the 3rd condition.. here it felt like more easier.. in the novel, she felt so helpless that she just accepted dying because of everything that happened.. and when she surrendered herself to the guards who where looking for her, they even pitied her because of how she looked and the condition of her body..
