Will Paulina and the Emperor be together?? Please tell me cause I don't want to get my hopes up
Honestly I'm more curious why some people are so bent on that, because when there's slavery in manga people are just like "that's how it was at that time" and move on but when it's something like a king having many wives y'all can't? Like dude paulina doesn't even like him, it doesn't matter that he's got many wives rn because they'll get a divorce, it's just like having an ex
I dont read much things like this ok? Im not used to it Like the historicals i read are mostly ones where the ml only sticks to one ok? And i did read some like this before but i dropped those And I do in fact dont like those slavery shits so dont assume everyone’s the same pls plus WE’RE talking about love here what the fvck does slavery has to do here?

I swore too much sorry, for the 100 chapters i read i really didn’t expect for him to marry 3 girls and got one pregnant sorry I was in disbelief I really thought they’d end up together without any other party interrupting
I totally get you, in some shoujos I always get angry at the MLs when they have a past or like an ex and it pisses me off lol even if they are just exes and will stay just exes. there are some historicals like you said that have only one love interest, those imo aren't very realistic. in historical times, it was harder to marry for love even harder if you're a king and have duties to fulfill. and although I hate it when MLs have past relationship its very realistic even irl. I dont think @YummY_FrencH_198 was trying to come for you, just asking a question. and I think she brought slavery up is while about 3/4 of the readers are concerned or miffed about the ML having 3 other wives, no one has brought up the slavery. @YummY_FrencH_198 is just questioning why ppl concerns are so heavy on that instead. which is true. I haven't seen anyone brought slavery up while everyone is talking about the ML's multiple wives instead. its like worrying about kids in anime which are getting sexualized (that is a bit weird ngl) rather than real life concerning things, like I literally see ppl that are more mad about bakugo being sexualized than whats happening in Pakistan. basically think about where you're putting your energy in being mad.
ofc I got you bro! it really bothered me too since him having multiple wives is also "historically accurate" yet they still complain about that but use that same excuse of "historically accurate" for people who brought up slavery. its so funny where some ppl concerns lie in, low-key kind of tone deaf too

Rebeca dies from childbirth complications, as that time was easy to bleed to death.
The blondie accused her family and other nobles of treason, she also provided proof. Everyone was executed, but she lost her title, because of that she had to divorce the king.
The brunette decided she didn't wanted to be part of this anymore, and her and ML divorced of good terms.
Rebeca child is a beautiful girl, she'll adore FL and if I'm not wrong, becomes the first Queen/Empress as in the first female ruler.
Also, about FL and ML, they do marry and she becomes his queen/empress, but still doesn't really love him. After the marriage, she slowly falls for him. So yeah, if there had no baby involved, they still wouldn't be together.
Get ready to read a long ass reply:
I'm part that crew that is "bent" (sorta) about the 3 wives thing. I get it. It's inevitable. He's an Emperor and half the times, I eat up the concubine wars sh*t all the damn time from Webtoons or Asian period drama.
Couple reasons I can surmise:
1. It's out of the norm for a ML to do this especially since he is fully aware of his infatuation. Lets face it. We got Shoujo/Romance/Josei fans up in here and most of the stories we've read have the ML ride or die for our FL. Even if he got a harem, it would have been established before the FL came or new wives get added for some political stuff outta his control but he is still going to be the one and only ML for the FL. So of course, when we see a very realistic example of a dutiful Emperor, we (the pressed people) are going to complain because it's so out of the norm from what's usually thrown at us. Not saying its right but it is what it is. And at the very least, I'm being honest about it.
2. Because his love epiphany came BEFORE he got a harem, it feels slightly weird that he still established a harem AFTER the fact. The fact that he was/is in love with Paulina. So when we are reading his thoughts about how "loves" her but got a whole volleyball team (y'all I'm dumb af I don't know what sport has only 3 members) in his bedroom, it's going to come off a bit insincere to us as we read.
3. Now some of y'all have a very good rebuttal to this and that is, "He's the Emperor whose duty is to stabilise his Empire and do whatever is best for the citizens". I don't refute that logic at all. However, was it necessary to add 3 of them and moreso to have Paulina watch and guard over them? I understand Lucius has also tried/tries to confess his feelings (and he also flirts to Paulina) but you tell me: Some man comes and tells you he loves you but he got 3 wives and a child on the way; would you believe him??? Paulina is dense (probably trauma from misogyny) so she doesn't get it but we get it and it's not cute at all. I'm just being honest: I ,as a reader, am failing to see the so called "Love" Lucius has for Paulina as his actions have been so quite contradictory to thus far.
4. As for the Slavery thing, I mean, I get it but it's not even one of the main themes for this story. I could be wrong but I don't recall Slavery in this manhwa. A caste system of nobility for sure, but outright slavery??? I can't say it was there. This manhwa was tagged with Romance so people are naturally questioning to the "Romance" part.
4.5. Slavery isn't discussed or complained about, because from the get go, we know that it is wrong regardless. So why speak on the obvious? Unless of course, this Manhwa actively glorifies it as a good thing, then you'll see a much more defined stance against it but I don't think this story outright glorifies it (correct me if I'm wrong). All I've seen is a conquest but sure let's talk about it on a fictional story. How this story glorifies conquest and dictatorship instead of upholding a democratic government. I mean if the Legend of Korra can have a democratic government, why can't this story have one as well????
4.6 People pick and choose what offends them.
Hopefully, this does not come off as condescending (hence the emojis). I'm just giving my opinions as reason in an effort to answer your question. I'm not too upset about his 3 wives think but I still think it's weird nonetheless.
I miss everyone especially my dear Kasia and Ernon
