Realistically, if Riftan wants to protect Maxi "from herself" kinda and how she rushes into situations that she doesn't actually know how to handle, he needs to give her an actual position and job in these scenarios so she can feel of use and busy while being out of danger. Because as she has shown, when left to her own devices, she has a tendency to get in over her head due to her lack of experience.
