I don't think there's anything wrong with answering truthfully. Maybe they were homophobic, then that's their problem and not yours! That being said though. I am a lesbian and I would never admit to reading 'yuri', I would much rather say I read comics about gay women or something like that. When I was like 13 a guy in a public swimming pool put his hand in my swimming suit to touch my (not very defined yet) breasts. When I was 11 a few male classmates went up to me and told me they were going to rape me. I don't think they really understood what it meant, probably just knew it was something they could use to scare girls. Which worked......   reply
