What a selfish and hypocritical person the Duke is. He was full of denial and felt he was not guilty at all. How could giving luxury items will make the fl forgive him? How does his brain work? He is a coward for sure aside from being an abuser. It's true that the fl wasn't good person either, but he is worse, worser than anyone. He have people who willing to support him, while the fl have no one, even if there Ellie, she could do nothing because she just a commoner. How much longer must she suffer like that? Even her momentary happiness continues to be disturbed by the prick duke.
Ohh.. i feel sorry for Elena somehow. She's the most pitiful if i may say so. Growing up very naive and without knowing anything, she's the only victim in their household. Moreover when the prince has set his eyes and gave her false hope, when she thought it was genuine, poor her.
