After reading through it all currently scanlated, I'm trying to figure out how it COULD be her brother. The position of emperor is generally hereditary so the is no way someone who WASN'T known to be of royal birth could easily slip into that spot. Also, her brother was taken by, presumably, bandits, so unless he was sold as a slave and bought by the palace as, maybe a body double for the young prince? Of course everything we know about her history and her brother comes from a traumatized child's memories and who knows what details she might not have noticed or remembered yet. Will be interesting to see how things play out.
It would be quite a hitch in their potential relationship if it turned out her brother was taken by imperial guards (who eliminated potential whistle blowers in the process) to secretly serve the prince, and he died in the line of duty. The prince could be innocent of all of it, but she still couldn't help but initially blame him. Would that be too cliche - ?
