My guess is bada is actually an npc probably a super important npc (like he actually survivor from the family that got murdered) that is why he unable to kill the killer because he is not a player thus he didnt have the ability to do so.
On one turn he probably interacted with doha which piqued doha interest. Maybe some cliche thing like doha figuring out bada role in the murder case and when when confronting bada, bada said some unique line that suit well with doha insanity thinking. But on next round bada turns back into npc which doesn't suit well with doha so he figures he might as well try to force bada into a player.
So seongchan figures this out and think goddamn tf you try to do making a npc to be a player but doha probably said bullshit like because he npc he maybe know stuff about the game we didnt know which is correct because bada as npc knew the system/program of the game thus why he knew informations such as to search for item, the time of killer respwan time, or the death flags to avoid.
Maybe that's why doha didnt want to end the game aka ripping the clue (probably has something to do with information of bada being an npc) because the one to escape would be the player aka doha which left bada inside the game (because he is an npc duh).
Now i have some guesses on why bada memory is fuck up. As the author said interuption during saving might disturb the memories saved so listing possibilities from least likely to most likely would be:
1. Bada probably the last key in solving the murder case and seongchan need to remove bada tape but unable to completely do so (small chance because in the end he inserted bada tape again)
2. Bada the one to took out his own tape but got interrupted by most likely doha or the killer
3. Doha took out bada complete tape because bada try to leave him or some shit idk. Maybe he want to reprogram bada to think he is a player / real life person from the beginning so bada feel motivated to keep playing aka escaping (very high chance because dude gone crazy and crash the car even leaving his boo inside the car, dude probably rush of to retrieve another bada's tape to reset the whole thing and makes bada forgot anything that seongchan might has already told him so he can play with bada forevermore) crazy bastard. Just like how the blue hair dude only remember the prolog because his data only got saved until there doha is trying to only have the current bada tape we knew playing while the real complete bada tape is somewhere he knew of so he try to interrupt the saving again so bada memories go unstable again. With my guess is inside the tunnel. Thats why when the bridge / tunnel was mention bada goes "i dont remember going pass anh bridge/tunnel" yeah maybe because your tape is taken out there.
Oh also doha is the one to cut the bridge when bada try to walk pass the bridge because he afraid bada as npc would forget everything like what happen to blue hair dude (even tho he is currently a player but after passing through the bridge bro turns back into npc with no memories)

He went through hundreds or maybe thousands of death already tho ? Thats why he gave up and ask bada to take out his tape he is way too tired already
