This is just my opinion. If we see from the straight friend's perspective, he wouldn't understand why his friend of so many years suddenly get away from him with no reason at all. A part of him cherished the friendship he had with the protagonist, so he chased after him just to get the answer.
Nevertheless, I agreed he did give some misleading signal to the protagonist but I never think too much of that (maybe straight men also touchy with their friends idk). But if he really do that with the full knowledge of the protagonist loving him, then he is truly a scum.
Also Minwoo with his little dimples is so adorable when he smiled. I'm weak to character with dimples.
