I can't stand Sato. I'm actually giving up on this manga because he just pisses me off too much. I was down for the cute - two semi-awkward people working their way through their relationship. But then freaking Sato appears and everything is just done for his amusement?! Twisting words so that the ML thinks you're also into the FL? What an absolute dick move. Argh! The duke is a complete idiot when he's in love. You know Lindsay is an oblivious dumbass. Trying to make her jealous by parading women in front of her is not going to work!
I suppose that's one way to protect her from interested parties. Adopting her.. would mean that someone could still kidnap/forcibly marry her to someone else. Let's hope the next chapter is Ewey going - I'm 15! and you're 40~! (Assumption based of her calling him an ojisan), and then we'll get the explanation of why this is a good idea, and don't worry, if you do fall in love with someone you can still marry them.
My assumption was that her father framed her (apparently that's not so). Because what idiot would ignore their daughter their entire life and then give them a weapon in prison? The only options are - kill someone, kill yourself. If she stabbed someone to try and escape.. she would be utterly doomed by the rest of the guards in the area - and BOOM instant guilty death sentence. So the only other option is he wants her to die. The prince's words.. I get he meant he wasn't going to kill her.. but she's in a rumored torture cell for dangerous criminals. You think he could have been a wee bit aware of how words get twisted. Especially since he came in all armored up. Congrats prince you really went for the scary factor there.
xD the duke's and prince's social/communication skills are not very good... So it provoked a big misunderstanding and the situation didn't help
