I think it's not finished yet because it has 3 seasons (up til now), and usually there are breaks between the seasons. But, i think it's ok if you want to catch up until ch.66 'cause there's no conflict yet :) well, maybe soon though-

someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe since they are twins their sorcerer powers were "split"? so since Mai died Maki gain all the power. Like if there was only one child born it would be super powerful but since their twins, the power is divided. I hope this helps and makes sense ! (=・ω・=)
