Yo but how are they gonna live together. Will they be hiding and shit cuz mediawill be like THEY WERE STEP SIBLINGS THO
I’ll be curious as to how author will handle how open they can or will be with their relationship. There’s Joowon’s high profile career to consider, but also the fact that they are a gay couple. I feel like the fact that their parents were briefly married in the past should be far less of an issue than them being gay. (Like if they were straight, I think far fewer people would see anything “perverse” about it, and more likely to find it “charming.”)
And here lies what I find to be a flaw in the storyline, which is to suppose that any taboo about ex-step siblings is worse than being involved in yet another high profile same-sex relationship. Not only high-profile, but no less than a controversial bisexual Japanese man known for sexually-charged photography, who has flings with his models, and a leaked sex tape. It doesn’t make sense for this relationship to be somehow considered more viable or socially acceptable.
I think the whole dilemma of conforming with parental and social convention vs following one’s heart/ true love would’ve worked better if Taku’s character had been written as a woman. But if Taku’s character had been a woman, I’d anticipate she would’ve been largely reviled by the fandom from the start, and that’s obviously not the dynamic that the author wanted with this work.
I was thinking this whole time!! How is it okay for Joowon, a high profile Korean actor, to be working with Taku: an openly bisexual photographer, with controversial work, and who has a leaked sex tape with his boyfriend (i guess most of the korean public doesnt really know abt that tho, but i think the company would at least do a background check or something.... but taku says he avoids photos or whtv so idk idk). Taku's character being a woman would've in fact made some more sense considering the societal context of this whole manhwa (it doesn't seem to take place in gay ppl fairy land the way many BL do lol). But youre right that if Taku's role was a woman, she would've totally been hated by fans (plus a traditional "uke" being bisexual AND with a woman?? even more crazy considering the heteronormative depictions of ukes in BL or whatever).
As for what's MORE controversial: them being ex-step siblings like a decade years ago, vs them being gay??? idk which one exactly, but im inclined to side with you that the sibling thing would be more accepted, knowing how deep homophobia can run in some asian countries (i say this as a closeted asian lol). Like even Joowon's own dad said that there was no incestuous taboo over their relationship anymore so....
If seungho wasn't hot yall would realise how creepy it is for some random dude to shove u in a barn and show u their cock then cum over your face. Poor bitch nakyum he getting traumatised in every universe
Know whats also CREEPY AF? When someone sneaks like a weasel and paints your naked body, and your partners, without permission, when you’re minding your own biz and enjoying your life. I say SH took his revenge as he deserved
╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ Just because NK is all small and blushing does not excuse this behavior. If you’re going to judge one then judge them all.
Man tbh dojin deserves better. Hyesung should get a redemption arc or take his bags and leave
Sweetheart, I know you’re not siding with Dojin on this.
lmfao pls ikr
fuck I meant to dislike
Dojin is keeping him there without his wishes so I wish dojin will just let his ass GO. He's obsessed ik that's shitty and he's kinda forcing hyesung to love him but I wish hyesung will just say it and go??? Whys he playing the love game
do you not know how hard it is to leave a manipulative toxic relationship?
also, I'm pretty sure Byul plays a big part in him staying
hyesung never loved him so i dont think the problem is anything except the fact that dojin wont let him leave and hyesung likes the rich life. plus yea ig byul's dad and that family love. but if hes agreed to this relationship he can atleast put some effort to not go ogling other omegas. cuz if anthing dojin has done a lot for him so he can atleast respect that. or tell dojin if he wants an open rel.
the problem here is that Dojin should've communicated w Hyesung and told him that it made him uncomfortable, instead of immediately turning to sexual punishment. After all, this is Hyesung's first relationship, and due to his upbringing, he doesn't have the healthiest view of how to be in a relationship and treat your s/o, esp considering this was a very rushed marriage. Dojin should've communicated instead of setting up a camera (creepy bro) and the porn. All Hyesung did was admire pretty men for being pretty which is natural since he went through most of his life being attracted to omegas, it's not like he cheated, he really didn't do anything wrong.
DOJIN is the one that didn't respect his boundaries, and was very forceful, scaring him into submission instead of talking with him. AND he's keeping tabs on him through Hyesung's friends. Hyesung needs a gentle talking to, yeah, but Dojin needs therapy cause that is NOT okay.
ah thats right the sex punishment wasnt it. he shoulda spoken but the root of the problem is that hyesung doesnt wanna be in this relationship anyway. he doesnt like dojin he doesnt even like having sex withh dojin in particular he just likes the dick feeling. i dont think these two should be together. their child is cute but tbh byuls the only reason why they had to get married. both of em will keep getting hurt this way cuz dojins feelings arent reciprocated and theres the shackles of forced marriage on hyseung
Exactly, but I don’t think Hyesung should have the redemption arc
By redemption I mean, either hes given the balls to be decisive or he grows in love too
