They're both people that have been deeply harmed by their surroundings. The MC healed, and Siyun relapses consistently. Two broken individuals on different paths of recovery. The MC is not at fault for assuming the boy who smashed her abuser's head in the wall and has harmed others around her murdered her abuser. She is not and never will be responsible for his actions and she has clearly done all she could to keep him stable, in the same way he is doing all he can to ensure her saftey, despite putting her in danger in the process, and in the same way he came to her mental and physical aid when she needed it the most (when she was actively being bullied, and harming her bully in her dream).
Like others have said, he needs help. She is not to be blamed.
Additionally, the ML underwent severe abuse to become who he is today, he is the product of his traumatic childhood. He is trying to become better. His trauma does not justify his actions, it explains it. The ML being hurt psychologically does not justify attempting to murder Jaehyuk or whatever the char who the MC originally liked was named. The MC originally wanted to murder the people who hurt her too. Luckily, she learned that that was not the path to healing.
What are the comments even arguing? Who's wrong? Who's good? Who's at fault? At fault for what? Their mental place? What is the point in trying to blame them? The MC is wrong for not believing in a boy (who didn't believe in himself) when it came to the murder of someone close to her, who he showed signs of aggression towards a day before, with a tendency for violence and manipulation? Are you kidding me? He DREAMT of murdering him (and by extension, himself). Which means, he absolutely could have.
I didn't expect to see this comments, I'm so baffled.

you said it perfectly. i can't understand these comments blaming either of them when they were both put in one of the worst situations for their relationship. jeongmin is being criticized for using context clues and logically deducing siyun was responsible (she even asked him and he admitted it!). and siyun is a victim of this misunderstanding as well. it's so confusing seeing the story explain everything, yet people still choose to misunderstood and blame one of them.
and i'm glad you brought up how jeongmin originally wanted to murder people too but changed (pretty early in the story), so i don't know why people bring it up to accuse her of being a hypocrite. she healed herself and wants siyun to heal too and refrain from violence after he promised her to stop using that method. that's all there is it.

If perhaps anyone here is ever in a similar situation as the MC, please do not sacrifice yourself lmao. Do not leave your family alone to hold onto the small slimmer of hope that other humans will keep their word without being bounded by something tangible, like a contract that results in punishment if not fulfilled.

I see a lot of comments wondering why both MCs broke up when Gene went to Canada for his studies. So here is my take, and I do think understanding this factor is crucial for a good outlook on the manga's story.
Trevor and Gene met when Gene was in an extremely vulnerable place. Gene staying at Trevor's place had always been temporaryāhence Trevor's wage system which would allow Gene to leave at any time and still have enough pay to support himself (the detail of the plants Trevor would buy for Gene which could survive with little care reflects the constant theme of how temporary everything was). But they grew to fall in love, so why was their relationship still temporary?
Gene was 19. He was 19, fresh off his Amish roots, with little knowledge about the world and even less about himself. Trevor's love stabilized him and allowed him the stepping stones he needed to begin to find himself, but clinging onto his hand forever would hinder Gene from learning who he wants to be and who he wants to become. They actually had quite a healthy relationship, despite the mutually dependent situation they began in, the comfort they found in each other ended up healing many parts of their hearts, and they knew they could walk forward.
Trevor mentions many times that Gene was far younger and hadn't had a taste of the world yet. Trevor is older, more experienced, had a professional job and relationship experience. Gene knowing nothing and Trevor encouraging him to learn is very important, because it shows Trevor's maturity as a partner and Gene's lust for knowledge. He was okay with letting Gene go if it meant he could explore the world. In a way, staying with Trevor would have confined him.
Okay so Gene leaves for Canada, but why couldn't they keep in touch? Gene leaving for Canada was Gene leaving a place he grew comfortable in once again to learn. And just like how he left his Amish community, he needed to set everything behind to keep moving forward. He is the type of person to have wanted to keep moving forward, and he did so even after reaching Canada. He traveled the world.
He gained the life experience he needed to finally stand beside Trevor and not below him, should he want to return to his side. He needed to step away to do that. Otherwise, he still would have been the child Trevor helped guide. Essentially, he needed to fly with his own wings, and Trevor realized that.
This manga, in my opinion, is so beautiful because it includes a variey of relationship types, including a healthy separation. Two people can cross paths, grow, and walk forward. And it does not need to be soul-shattering. It is typically difficult for two people who have loved so passionately to realize that loving each other does not mean constantly needing each other, but love comes in many forms and presents itself in many ways. Like Trevor and Karen, two people once in a romantic relationship can find a healthier, even more beneficial friendship within each other.
Of course, this is all my take! Hope it helps. (ć„ļæ£ Ā³ļæ£)ć„

This is such a well thought out reason in comparison to mine which is just that they were each otherās first love, and realistically first loves donāt last. Gene had yet to experience a life of his own before he met Trevor, and going to Canada symbolized him finally recovering from the trauma of leaving his Amish home and now leaving his second home with Trevor. Either way theyāre gay and itās a happy ending so whatever

I'm so concerned at my ability to understand love now. Everyone loved the romance and I appreciate this creative direction, but I really do not feel as emotionally connected to this arc as, say, the martial arts novel. For reference, I've cried at every arc in this manhwa, so I don't lack emotions. I feel like I'm missing something. I need to re-read this, maybe I'll read the light novel.
I'm unable to follow the love between them. I suppose I'm having trouble understanding how Gongja fell in love so quickly, and what exactly he fell for in the female love interest? I understand that they are both regressors, and she's gorgeous. I have no idea why I am not understanding the rest of it, but I really want to see the beauty of this arc. I'm so disappointed in myself, especially since I've seen so many comments discussing how unique and detailed their love is. And, I've read so many villainess manhwa, I'm a fan of the genre! This work has everything I could ask for, so why the hell can't I understand it?? ā( Tļ¹T )ā

U better read the novel if you want to feel more connected with the character especially this arc ā®(ļæ£ā½ļæ£)ā ig they just cant fit everything in one sitting right? I dont really want to read lots of chaps just for a kisseu scene or scene where they proclaimed their love lmao, bc it'll be boring. And this is focusing on fantasy/action genre, not a romancee soooo ā®(ļæ£ā½ļæ£)ā

I understand that completely. I am not asking for more chapters on romance. How many chapters you want to read and the genre of the manhwa do not help the fact that I'm having trouble connecting the dots when others don't, it seems lol. I have no idea whether the romance here is underdeveloped or not because I do not see a single person as confused as me. If you're saying to read the novel and that everything can't be fit, are you saying that for more context or because the manhwa actually is lacking in exploring the romance?

Uuhh uh i see your point! (ą¹ā¢ć
ā¢)Łā§ maybe bc i read both novel and manhwa i just understand what's going on lol, and didnt see it on your view
Manhwa deffo too rushed and just lacking exploring their romanceāeverything just happend so fast. While novel has more context exploring their romance and we can feel more connected with them Ł©(ą¹āį“āą¹)Ū¶
But (imo) It's good they rushed everything esp this arc, bc not everyone likes romance on fantasy/action genre ā„ļ¹ā„ yall can see below comments everyone keeps saying 'usually i dont like romance/female lead on fantasy manhwas bla bla bla' lmao
He's so fucking delusional. Wagging his tail like a dog for a man who doesn't even give half a shit for him.
