Guys I am theorizing that the mc is going through some kind of denial to reality. Like that one apocalyptic anime, “high school live”. He just can’t accept the weight of what happened to the world. That’s why he blacks out sometimes. Deep down he knows what’s going on and when his “survival mode” kicks in, he blocks it out and regresses back to his own world, wondering why he had these “black outs” when it’s just him coming back to reality.
This might also be why Guwon made him a teacher. So he would be around people who share a similar mindset to him.
I also theorize that the “sickness” that father meant, was probably that his son was infected. That must’ve been why people voted for his death, and Mc just can’t see that, because he’s living in his own fantasy.
