Hi!
So I've been reading the latest chapters on 'ere before next months update (YEY!) and this guy - http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/you_re_my_loveprize_in_viewfinder/mh/iur_chapter-80.7/pg-1/ - who watches Fei Long leave the hotel after doing-the-do with Mikhail, must be the Russian rebel boss, right?!>!>!"!
He looks super young, intelligent and really quite intriguing and it got me thinking that this enemy has already proved to be quite the adversary for both Asami and Fei Long - so just in the name of FUN - what do you think will happen or what do you want to happen in this latest arc? Sensei has already kept us guessing so much but do you guys have particular things you'd like to see happen at all? Or are there things you're worried may happen that would disappoint you?
- - - - - - - - At the risk of sounding like some deviant (for which I am not apologetic at all) I for one would like Akihito to yet again be ravished by anyone and everyone in the chapters to follow, so I remain hopeful that Mikhail, Sakazaki, Aaron and this new dude could er, get a go (as it were) ( ̄∇ ̄") - - - - maybe in an attempt to save Fei Long Akihito does some silly hostage swap or something I dunno -_-
Thoughts?x
LOL. I think Akihito has suffered enough and should remain in the arms of Asami doing what they do best;). Having said that I can't imagine either of them sitting on their heels when they hear what happened to Fei Long.
I think and am hoping that Mikhail, who has always said that he keeps an eye on Fei Long, knows of Fei Long's capture and will go all out to save him (provided he isn't with the baddies on this ??). I know Yoh will do his best and I am sure Fei Long is being respectfully looked after.
Looking forward to seeing what the author has decided...
Do you like Akihito? How? You want him to be ravished by all these men, but that just means to be raped.
I mean I like Yoh, but I don't wish Asami or Feilong raped him. Some times rape look hot in yaoi, I totally get it.
How can you like a character and wish them to be raped????? It makes no sense..... I don't mean to offend you, I'm just curious :)
Onto the topic, what does the Russian rebel boss look like? I can't spot the guy you mean sorry ^^'
It's just totally my kink when it comes to Akihito eheh, he is just so moreish! ლ(´ڡ`ლ) It doesn't offend me at all lovie, basically I just really like different pairings (aside from the beloved OTP) and there are very little opportunity for different pairings in Yaoi aside from a breakup arc or rapey stuff, so I'll take what I can get haha. I just think different pairings makes way for new character dynamics, interactions and growth. I'm not in to a manga being about a happy couple all the way through, I find it suuuuper boring - like Haru wo Daita or something ^^' - even if Akihito were to date Ai or something I'd love that….
I am thinking it's the dude on the left panel watching Fei Long out of the window walking away from the hotel - if you scroll down that page a wee bit….
Naahhhhh bruv, surely. it doesn't look anything like Fei Long does it? : / And his hair is a different colour, and it's short with a weird side burn thing going on and Fei Long doesn't have sideburn things, and he's looking down at the city as if through a window and not to mention the long hair swaying there in front of him as if he's watching him walk away…....
I have stated my case! Haha, why do you think it's Fei Long?
Surely it's the new Mafia boss who watches him leave the building, then calls in for Fei Long to be taken whilst en route somewhere……? I think that's more plausible than it being Fei Long because it simply gives us another glimpse of an enemy and an insight to him being tailed somehow right before he's taken...
This is a filler panel* (having nothing to do with the story) at the end of the chapter teaser and that is Asami. What you think is hair are actually transparent curtains on a window. Note the perfect border line... Sensei NEVER draws anyone's hair, much less Fei's , that way. She always draws Fei's hair with uneven, kind of messy edges.
Fight me.
*same format was used in Ch. 75
OK, put up your dukes. I respectfully disagree. With a close up shot there are limits as to hair may be embellished. Also, for the sake of continuity it makes more sense that it's a reactionary shot of Feilong. There he is, leaving Mik after a brief sex encounter. Mik wants more but Fei is done and leaving so remarks "So Cold" Feilong may have to put up a tough exterior as leader of Baishi but he's obviously not insensitive. He's shown how much he can care with his father, Tao and Aki and even Asami. Mikhail hasn't gotten to see that side of Feilong so doesn't understand that he's not cold(except to Mik).
Lol. What an absurd discussion. As if the face of the big bad of the arc will be revealed in such a random way.
The possible reasons for why they kidnapped Fei are endless. It's definitely possible that they bugged the room, but I hope that isn't the case. Fei's situation will be even more dire if the rebels know the contents of his conversation with Mikhail.
Fisticuffs? All right then...
Again, that is a filler intro panel, with Asami looking out of the window*. Note caption in that panel is "AKIHITO AND ASAMI FINALLY REUINTE!!!**"
Now why would that be on Fei's profile shot?
*Unless for continuity sake, you think Fei walked out of the room, went to roof and is now hovering in the air, looking down at the buildings ;p
**Dyslexics of the world untie!!!
I have my suspicions that Mikhail had something to do with the abduction. After all he knew exactly when Feilong left the hotel. And he probably has some sour grapes from all the rejection from Feilong. But time will tell...
And about the big bad reveal, I keep seeing the character name Kouyama as I re-read vol.7. There's a behind the scenes character that we've yet to actually see and it's been a long time coming. Curiouser and curiouser.

Asami and Aki did not reunite at the hotel, but in a helicopter with Asami unconcious. Feilong however is in a hotel and hotels have windows. It may even be the glass door he left out of as he met Yoh. The location of the caption most likely due to editorial executive decision based on available space. The following panel of A&A most likely said the same thing but in Japanese. :)
I too have certain suspicions about Mik. But not regarding the attack on Fei and Yoh's car.
The clothes that the kidnappers are wearing are too similar to the clothes we've seen Aaron wearing for it to be a coincidence. Also the way Fei was kidnapped seemed impulsive, desperate and opportunistic. Fitting of a rebel attack.
Mik is too smart and calculating to act in such a rash way. I still think he loves Fei but I can buy the idea of him kidnapping Fei, to -forcefully- protect him from the danger of the rebels. But in that violent way? No chance.
"nē" at the end of a sentence is used in two cases:
1. Indicates the speaker's desire for the listener to agree with him - "right?", "Do you agree with me?" (in this case, the intonation increases by the end of the sentence - interrogative intonation);
2. the speaker's agreement with the above (intonation by the end of the sentence is reduced - "Hmm";
That intro panel (Akihito and Asami finally reunite!!!) shows Asami missing Akihito, possibly at the hotel where he stayed before leaving to Hong Kong. This bookends the final panel where Asami thinks "Akihito, it may be impossible to separate from you again." Notice the similarities of Asami's face in the intro panel and the final one.
They have plenty of room to add such a short caption of Asami and Akihito reuniting on the main title page. They won't plaster a totally different thought in a panel of Fei's because it would distract from the importance of what Fei just did.
In any case, whether it's Asami, Fei, Yan, or the actually enemy, we'll all see what we want to see.
But I'm right ( ̄ω ̄)
Here is Kouyama Shouzou (sometimes translated as Kamiyama): http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/you_re_my_loveprize_in_viewfinder/mh/v07/c036/11/
He's dead now; likely taken out by his Russian rebel buddies.
I've had a few accidents(got broadsided once just like Yoh) and witnessed wrecks too. One in particular had the vehicle doing a complete 360 before it stopped. So yeah, I can see this being the same car now, and now I'm worried about where/how Yoh is! Did he get out? Is he chasing them down on foot? Did the Russians kill him. I wanna know!
As for Kouyama, I think he's still alive since Aki's investigation in vol7 kept bringing him up.
That Superhero extra was literally the gayest thing I've ever read….
I loved it.
I mean typically all superheros are grown men, so either way your comments makes no sense and wasn't funny. Bat man - grown man. Black panther - grown man. Spider man - grown man. Superman - grown man. Iron man - grown man. Captain America - grown man. Green Arrow - grown man. I think the MAN in their titles speaks volumes lol. I'm trying to make sense of your "joke" here
That earlier post about Biblical Yaoi themed depravity gots' me thinkin'….
that there must be something wrong with me after all - because I found this chapter exceptionally sexy AF. I mean, there's just something about Asami and all those manly men sitting around watching someone getting interrogated bloody for information…….
And hell -! Fei Long slipping his phone into Asami's pocket like that???????? Oh. Freaking. Boy! ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄ Anyone else?
Basically a very, very good new chapter, I have very high hopes for this Arc now
(๑•ㅂ•)و✧ the more blood and gore, and sadistic Asami the better!
Now I know that many of you will say I'm naive and stupid because it was as clear as the sun that Asami was a ruthless mafia though ..... I got sick when I saw him sitting while torturing the enemy. Even if it is an enemy ..... I do not know ... I did not like the scene.
I think I'm intrigued because Asami shows such a polished, sophisticated view to the world, people think he's straight for one - and a respectable member of society. And then you get the dual side of him - he is totally gay for Akihito, he's filthy
(a rapist too)( ̄へ ̄)and he is a massive sadist. I love that.
I love that thought of 'you have three faces; the one you show to the world, the one you show your lover, and the one you only show yourself' - I think Asami is this, I find it very interesting lol
I know that, lady. But one thing is a yaoi that has the mafia background. Another is to see the protagonist of the manga who lucidally tortures a helpless, wise and tied man. Asami has already killed, but only moved by instinct (I speak of what Sensei has drawn); Now it's different, First whip a person and then drink a drink. I do not like it, forgive me.
Sister if u watch arabic and turkish mafia series like i do u'll know this is really nothing if we compare it with those series and turkish serie they did even cut an enemy dick with a knife once while in arabic when it's not with the business matter u'll find them killing for the smallest thing he did threat a mafia dude's lover he burn him alive they hate their husbands they bomb their cars
Agree with you, Rommy. He did not get his power by giving out candy. Asami at war. Together with Fei makes it just that much better. Now all is needed is Mik.
I can perfectly understand why you don't like the scene, LF, it makes for uncomfortable reading. But personally, I am glad sensei put that in. It shows the very real and very dark side of what Asami is actually dealing with and what he is involved in. Murder and killing is very much part of his business and his dealings. The stakes have never been higher for Asami. He has been driven out of his home (penthouse), his clubs and business offices (presumably, since no longer safe) and has been driven deep into the underground. And let's not forget: The men attacking the penthouse did so with the intention to kill him. So the time for playing nice with his enemies is now over. It's eat or be eaten, kill or be killed, perish or survive. That is why I'm very glad sensei put that scene in. Asami (and presumably Fei now as well, since Fei's organisation is being targeted as well) have everything to lose - their business, the people they care about (Akihito, Tao) and, ultimately, their lives.
I disagree with what you said later, that Asami has only killed so far moved by instinct. Maybe Sensei should have shown us the stark reality of who Asami is and what he does a bit sooner, the kind of work that is an integral part of Asami's world and business, rather than just give us the elegant guy in the three-piece suit in an office who never gets his hands dirty. So I'm glad she is doing it now to remind us, what Asami is capable of. And let's make no mistake: Asami has no problem with torture or with killing somebody, if he sees the need for it - and it won't make him lose any sleep at night.
When I speak instinctly I speak of the killing of Toh and of the spy that sends Akihito to the Russians. I'm not naive. I know who are Asami and Feilong. Two criminals. But I add that an image has a deeper force than any story or hypothesis. I deserve that Asami tortured and killed and raped; Is the head of the Yakuza. But seeing that man made me uncomfortable, just as I did not like the scene in NT. That is why many hate the first chapter of VF; One thing is to "say" that Asami uses sex to punish; One thing is to see how he initially treated Akihito. I do not want to criticize Sensei's work (the designs are wonderful) and I could just stop reading without venting into a forum. I just say I noticed a remarkable change of tone (though not content) that struck me. The tone of this chapter is different. Some may like others not, but you will all have to admit that something has changed. I add that even though a manga is fantasy, and only as such is to be interpreted (well distinguished from reality), there are some issues that I still disturb. A man sitting in a chair, covered with blood, alone, with low eyes, with his hands tied up, troubles me. Maybe a shootout with dead and injured (being very inflatable as a scene, no). Sorry.
You are perfectly anonymous. I do not know how to explain, but it's as if for the first time I saw who really is Asami, although his role is clear from 16 years !!!!
Feilong was the same. I'm a fan of Fei because I hit the HL scenes. Pictures. If I had read this: "Asami tried to protect Feilong from Yan's trap in all ways, coming to use kisses and personal physical contact, but he did not succeed. Fei went to his father and only greeted him the last time; Asami found him faint in the rain and brought him back to the hotel ... " probably would not hit me much. But seeing Kisses, Caresses, Fei's tears, pain, rainfall striking him, face expression, and gaze between them has created a remarkable impact that led me to "on the side" of Fei. It is a subjective way of perceiving everything. I know. Many, when they read HL, get bored and go over. But for me it was so.
LF, you know, I've read some of your posts from this board and I'll say this: while I understand that seeing Asami in this scene made you cringe, when you don't read a manga from beginning to end, certain things will inevitably shock you. I distinctly remember you saying you're only read PARTS of this manga. Even if it hasn't been shown before, it's been heavily hinted that Asami is no stranger to murder. This is his life. Hell, in Finder no Souen (the novel about Asami and Kuroda's past, which is canon, since Yamane-sensei supervised the writing of it) Asami kills the members of a gang in order to protect Kuroda. He stabs them and he breaks the neck of the leader. So you might want to get your facts straight before commenting on something. Also, Asami is not part of the Yakuza, much less the actual head of the organization.
Yes...keep in mind what was done to akihito by both asami and fei long. He was also raped and tortured.
The meaning of my speech is based on the different emotional impact that different codes (writing and images) have on me. It also seems obvious to me: novels, comics, fairy tales, films are different kind of communicative genres that have a very specific and distinct feature. It's not my idea, it's communication (literary and not). I use time to translate English and I can not afford great expenses. I arrange how I can. OK it's good.
Naturally, but I was more touching on how Asami (as a fictional character, RL aside) shows and styles himself to be a certain way, so impeccably perfect - with scores of people either falling in love with him or proclaiming their undying loyalty to him etc. You would never guess he's all the shady things he is, or that he has such a cruel and almost primeval side to him. I'm just saying I find him really interesting and I adore seeing these different sides to people.
For example in this manga, the duality of character when he's interacting with Sudoh, his men, Fei Long for example - to how he interacts with Akihito when they're alone - I love that change, the unbuttoned, disheveled side to him too that is so far removed from the image he shows the rest of the world….
Like in this scene http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/you_re_my_loveprize_in_viewfinder/mh/v06/c035/14/
(a rare unguarded moment here and it's like; who would imagine such a seemingly well-to-do, powerful, untouchable man - that let's face it, people would most-likely normally assume is straight - who would imagine that he would be actually balls deep in some guy, in his kitchen, totally blissed out and losing his mind f**ing like bunnies?) I can't explain it well but it's like then you have that side - but then you also get the super dangerous side to him as well, and so many others. He's a very compelling character.
I'm also actually very interested in gang, yakuza and mafia culture in RL though - so yes I appreciate that this manga touches upon it! (a tiny, weeny bit) - wow, sorry for the essay! I ramble when tired Σ( ̄□ ̄||)
Very well said.
Thanks, RB. :)
U are welcome. I am looking forward to this. New plot, all the men of viewfinder present. what could be better.
Ooooh yes, I'm with you on that one, sister! :) This is basically the kind of plot I have been waiting for (and it has only taken a decade to come about *g* ).
Where I can't even be mad at sensei or sad because one of my favourite characters maybe died a horrible death; because it was still a fantastically amazing chapter. Those lines on the last page! That imagery! Sensei is just amazing as usual.
I do wonder what Sebastian has up his sleeve now though…..
With all the relentless shit happening in the world, if this brings a smile to even one persons’ face - well that would be great. Happy Holidays one and all! Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and a Cracking Kwanzaa.
All the best to you and yours, wherever you are x
