basically ML reach out to FL bc he was in a blackmail relationship w his current wife, who is absolute psycho. he cant kill her nor harm her bc her reputation and influence is EVERYWHERE esp on social world, all he can do rn is bringing FL basically a FAKE concubine or mistress so she will backdown from this marriage on her own, since ML cant divorce her without a reason.

this gonna be a hot take, but when its a trope where FL in TOXIC relationship u probly cheer on her to escape w another male lead, so yea just reverse it.

ml never loved the duchess, he want divorce peacfully but the duchess aint want it. he take the last resort by having fake mistress so she could back down on her own and realize he will never love her. welp instead of backing down the duchess abuse sally to death.

oh okay thank you, I read the first few chapters and it was leading onto something else. Also, from what I gathered from this ted talk is that the ml using another woman as a pawn in his escape plan isn’t strategic it’s honestly cowardly. You don’t fake a mistress just because you want a “peaceful” divorce, you fake loyalty while pulling strings behind the scenes to cut off her influence and ruin her social standing, and then use that to divorce her. I think the ml is quite infuriating and stupid, I hate manhwas where authors put women against each other thats all.

I have stakes in this argument, but in what world is "whys this rated so high tf" a genuine question after a first chapter???? Girl that's a mocking rhetorical and you know it

so far i dont think any story has similar heart wrenching with this type of plot story but the closest one is villainess are destined to die. it has some vibe like this. i remember im sobbing throughout the chapter

no wayy the angst in that one is only good up until the 6th chapter, the angst does NOT compare,,, the whole manhwa just goes downhill and i had to drop it cuz the fl is just pitiful but not sympathetic, she doesn’t even get a satisfying or good ending in my opinion, its just hella mid.
I think there’s better angsty ones like May The Holy One Come, my beloved oppressor, My Husband Who Hates Me Has Lost His Memories.

I’ve read 18 bed and the ML there was more manipulative than the ML here. There’s a time in 18 bed where ML just let his classmates bully the MC bec he was annoyed he got rejected by him.

i was once in his shoes and I did in fact go to my head of year and got them suspended, but I do understand that an individual can feel pressured and overwhelmed but that is not the case with this character, he seems so odd like at first he was defensive but now he’s completely bent for the ml which honestly i feel that he’s bipolar haha

I also do not think that he’s staying with them for the protection because he did reject the ml and said he wouldn’t hang out with bullies, he’s only hanging out with the ml because the ml said that he wouldn’t hang have been better:)

Although, I have to disagree with you. The mc ended up standing up for taesan unlike this one, unlike this manhwa there’s more emphasis on physical bullying and family reputation, mc from eighteen bed was someone who had to uphold his image, family reputation and connections, in this manhwa the mc is working class who just wanted to get through college. You can see the difference in the disparity of experience between the characters which is why arguably they have different reasons for staying with the ml.

I’m not saying eighteen bed is better because both mls are bad, I was just hoping for more context and a storyline that didn’t contradict itself;)

also the mc of this story did infact say that he wouldn’t hang out with them you cant make a point and contradict yourself with what actually happened in the story hahahahah

i just liked the tension and psychological aspect of it, but tbh i just lost interest in both. I feel like the first three chapters made my expectations high that just ruined it for me. And it has a lot of holes in this one as in something happens with the mc but we have no context, thus I feel as though he is bipolar. Idk thats just how i saw it.
