I don't know any detailed spoilers but it seems like ML becomes suspicious of her identity very very early and observes her carefully. He doesn't know the whole truth yet but he already suspects her. She is also a pretty bad liar so that helps too.

is it my favorite story ever? no. but it is much better than most of the stories in this genre. its good for when i have free time and want to read something easy.
the MC really reminds me of jiang cheng. is that just me? like, her sibling didn;t listen to her and was partially the reason why her family dies and her home burned down. She thought she was abandoned, but it turns out her sibling sacrificed her power to save her. even though she knows that the super powerful evil guy would have come after them anyways, she cant help but blame her sister for the distruction of the family. and now the purple lotus motif.......

shelly still comes across as aslittle kid to me. also i am a bit bothered by the fact that they grew up together. i wish this had another plot outside of the romance to develop the characters more.
I really liked the family dynamic they had in the beggining. i wish elaine still treated him like her little brother insted of being a romance.
