lmaooo joowon and haesoo were toxic together but taku, literally the most manipulative character in the story WASN'T??? also joowon and haesoo only had an unhealthy relationship because of their parents if you can read.

joowon got the MOST development in the story, and his actions were more justified from the start because he wanted to protect haesoo by keeping their relationship ambiguous!! taku was a selfish prick that wanted to use haesoo and had barely any development compared to joowon

if you really think that was the "WORST" decision ever, then i honestly feel like you didn't really understand the story. literally the whole point of Love or Hate was that Joowon and Haesoo loved each other but wanted to avoid the consequences of their relationship (like losing their parents, or making their careers difficult)-- that's why they BOTH chose to keep their relationship undefined. literally the only way to end this story was was to have them face their feelings and be honest with each other, because otherwise this story would be telling you: fuck love i guess, better adhere to your parents and society. the author isnt gonna go destroy her own themes lol.
And it would make no sense for taku to be endgame as he's just a guy that read Haesoo's story about his brother, and had selfish motives wanting to use Haesoo's love and pain over JOOWON for his exhibtion. His and Haesoo's story wasn't about love, but making Taku realize what heartbreak is because he never cared at all about his past partners and viewed them through his lens rather than reality: which is bitter and real and heartbreaking.

and why joowon is the one with the MOST development? also why taku started things with haesoo to use him, but why joowon genuinely loved haesoo from the start, for a whole decade??

It’s interesting that this theme of “I fell for my step-XXX” is so popular in stories though because I don’t think I’ve ever read an American story where that’s a major plot point, so I am curious as to how it’s received in other countries so well
