That seme is hot but damn! That uke is sexy as fuck. He's like an innocent but perverted uke.. Interesting mix. But seriously his sexy face is like... *instant boner*.
Anyone know if there're any otome games but with ukes instead of semes? Doesn't seem like its in the market much... sadly. :( Even for drama CDs I haven't found one with an uke yet.. Like those private ones where it sounds like they're having sex with you and the sound is 3D. I've only found semes.. D: Sad cuz I can't fantasise my ideal uke..
"This isn't yaoi because one of them is a girl."
Ever heard of transgendered people? Try to be a little less ignorant. To be fair, it is not clear whether she/he is transgender, but why the hell does it matter that she/he used to be a girl?
If the character were truly transgender would you lot still complain about how he/she 'used' to be a girl, and dismiss it straight away? Sure, if you don't like the story plot because its boring or whatever, that's fine, but to diss the story out just because one of them is 'still a girl'? She/he doesn't look like a girl, doesn't act like a girl anymore, I honestly don't see why everyone is so disgusted by it. It's almost the same as those extremely heterosexual males that call gay people disgusting.
I highly doubt this plot is deep enough to make her actually transgender. It's a shallow story; she's just a fujoshi who wants to try out being a seme once. I think the people bothered are people who are less interested in male/male sex and more interested in male/male romance. That's why they don't like it. Because no matter what her body is, she is a girl. So it's not Boys Love.
Take a stick out of your ass. This is a silly, repeat silly BL story, not a deep enough propaganda for LGBT community, get it? I'm transgender myself and I found the heroine to just having fun with this magical gender change. If you read the original story, you will see there is no gender identity conflict. I'm tired of people like you, only make the issue of LGBT harder, not helping at all
Bruh, I did mention in my comment that 'It is not clear whether she/he is transgender'. Don't talk to me like that - I am part of the LGBT community and I have helped my suicidal lesbian friend. It what people are saying that are indirectly transphobic. Saying "She's still a girl since she was female before" does that not sound the least bit ignorant to you?
Opinions are a broad term. Within opinions, there are constructed opinions and ignorant opinions. If someone's opinion is that "Gays are all disgusting and should all go to hell", and I reply back to that comment, I'm called ignorant? I don't think so. Same concept, but the example used is more severe. They are still being indirectly transphobic. What these people are commenting sound very gender-normative. Which perfectly explains how they're being 'indirectly transphobic.' If anyone doesn't understand what I mean by indirect ignorance, I don't mind explaining.
Yeah, it is a shallow story. To be honest, I don't particularly like the story either. The only thing I have a problem with is the people who are saying indirect gender-normative statements. I'm okay with people having their own opinion. For example, "the story is too shallow". I'm not gonna say anything about that.
And "because no matter what her body is, she is a girl." I don't think you meant this in the transphobic way, I understand you were saying this about THIS particular character, but other people were saying the same thing in a more general sense - directing the statement outside of the story, to everyone, basically. That's what I mean by 'indirectly being ignorant.' (Again, I'm sure you were talking about the particular character in the story, so that's fine.)
You guys are quick to type up a reply probably before not even thoroughly reading my post. I'm sure I said "It's not clear whether she/he is transgender." I knew the story wasn't 'deep' enough or whatever. This post was created only to respond to the comments that said things like "She is born female so she's still a girl." Still a transphobic comment.
You're finding negativity in sth that's supposed to be purely to enjoy, like this silly piece of work. The political correctness is sth I hate, because people take offence in anything and only makes it harder, like for the LGBT community. Although, I'm one myself, I can recognise a joke and a real insult. By being oversensitive to any sort of comments we are causing ourself a real damage. We want to be treated as every normal human being hence when I see my LGBT fellows attacking other ppl for their opinions it irks me so much because then we are asking for special rights and that's not what LGBT community is standing for and I would never agree for that. Be serious when there is a serious debate but take it lightly when ppl joke. Your example sadly brings to the stereotype of a suicidal weak LGBT person, and although I know that this happens and bullying is brutal but we can be strong too and choose not to let the words hurt us. I had a fair share of own past history but despite everything I never denied anyone's freedom of speech.
This is purely fiction, even if offensive in real life. Take it as it is and enjoy it. I get the comments though. You might have a valid point if this was a serious debate.
"Take offence in anything".. yeah, I can see where that's coming from. My comment was made to reply back to those transphobic comments which those people probably didn't /intend/ to be offensive. That I can understand. That makes my comment unnecessary to a certain degree (more like you could call me over-sensitive or butthurt) just like those crazy feminists, so I get it, I shouldn't make /too/ big of a deal out of it, but there are people who say things that are indirectly harmful to the LGBT community that just don't know it. I don't think the comments saying things like "She's still a girl since she was female before" were joking (because why would you joke about that), but I realise they were not intentionally harming anyone. I should have said this more lightly, I just wanted to open people up to the fact that saying something like "She's still a girl since she was female before" can be hurtful to /some/ transgenders in real life.
I should have just warned everyone that when you meet a transgendered person, whether undergone surgery or not, whether they have a vagina or a penis, that they don't say something like that to them. I was probably overreacting the way I explained it. What I explained in this reply is what I really want to get across.
Nothing to do with the original comment but yes^^^. This story makes me shudder.
I think they made Yone-chan skinny so they could show some sex scenes because they thought some people might have been put off to see a chubby guy having sex.
Honestly, /I/ wouldn't have minded, but I wouldn't have been aroused either. But I think he lost TOO much weight. Like, he became another person.. He should've kept some of the fat. In real life too, a fat guy becoming skinny like that does not usually happen.. ;-; Still cute, but it just doesn't feel the same. Not as fluffy. In story and in fat as well ;A;
My opinion is that it was shown quite realistically - Yone says himself that he was chubby because he liked eating the most before and then he changed.... its really realistic - lot of chubby people are chubby cause they seek emotional gratification from eating that they dont get from other activities. Most women women who are blocked sexually just overates, Children from families where parents dont get along well also do it to substitute positive emotions they dont get from parents etc....
Not quite sure what you're specifying at. It is realistic for Yone to be chubby. This is one of the few yaoi mangas that include a fat protagonist. The only thing I intended to say was unrealistic was the drastic change Yone went through. He just became completely slim.. I just don't think that perpetuates real life; you would normally still have some flab even if you went on a diet.
My ex boyfriend was realy chybby as a kid, till secondary school he got teased a lot. Wen I met him in college he was tall, slim and handsome. I was tottally schocked to learn abot the change. Only thing left was some little fat around belly, but he got rid of it cause we ex ercised together. It happens.
Ha ha! He was yummy.!.. but he had some psychological scars from that time too, kids were buling him for some longer time....... like he seemed self confident and cool, but under little pressure was turning self depreciating and with big inferiority complex..... well it was quite hard pulling him through all this at times.. ... we just parted ways after 4 years of long distance relationship (jobs in different cities after uni) and slowly growing apart.
But some of my neighbors are still asking why did I let go of such hot guy ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I haven't read the second story yet, so I can't compare, but at first I was worried since people said the first story wasn't good... Damn, how is that not good? I guess people have way different tastes, but I found it so unique, different and touching... The mangaka brought a lot of emotion into that complex love triangle, and yet it was resolved so beautifully.. it takes courage to move on - even though the dead uke was terrible at times, there's a certain honesty to his feelings... The guilt, the awkwardness and anxiety it brought was something I honestly found to be brilliant.
Personally, I found the first story very uncomfortable. Between the ghost and the seme, they raped the uke.
Yes, definitely. Although (In my opinion as well) I think it was meant to be uncomfortable - that was the element in the story that the mangaka was probably trying to get across. Rape is only bad when it's portrayed in a positive light (i.e When rape is romanticised or encouraged), But I'm sure that particular scene was meant to evoke conflicting feelings. It gives you this horrible gut feeling, and while it's so obviously supernatural fiction, it had a strong sense of realism in the way it portrayed the characters' negative thoughts.
To each to his/her own opinion though. :) I get where you're coming from.
It wasn't only the whole rape thing with me. It felt as if the forgiveness was rushed. I couldn't help but think the author had the uke forgive him out being manipulated through a situation or was guilt ridden into forgiving him which rubbed me the wrong way
I'm surprised I haven't seen any comments about this yet, but I need to question what looks like a heart (<3) underneath when the uke said "Don't" in the second panel of the 26th page.
I'm not really trying to find an excuse to prove against the fact that this is rape, but it's something that is questionable, if you ask me.
This is a personal rant and nobody needs to agree with me. I only ask that I do not get any hostile comments back. Comments expressing different opinions is okay, but let's please not be hostile..
Just to clarify in case anyone gets the wrong idea and decides to hate me before reading the entire post, I do believe that the manga contains rape. I also do not justify rape.
Rape is a sensitive topic with a LOT of grey area around it. You need to be very clear in what is or isn't considered rape. Does one define rape by verbal consent? Or can you judge whether rape is rape by the expressions of the victim and perpetrator? What about S&M? What if this character is an M without knowing it? Well, the most common one I hear is the one of verbal consent. If an uke (or seme) says no, and the partner doesn't stop, it's considered rape. Following this rule, a LOT of yaois are considered rape. Yet only few of them manage to get called out as unacceptable rape.
Lets use some examples... Lets take this one and Junjou Romantica. (To make sure to be clear, I love Junjou Romantica.) Junjou romantica has your main uke saying 'no' at the start of /alot/ of sex scenes. Sure, he comes to enjoy it gradually, but is it not considered rape at the exact moment when the uke says 'no' and the seme refuses to stop? If we're being consistent with our rules, this should be considered rape. Yet nearly nobody complains about it. Why? There's a very simple answer to this - one which many overlook.
Both this manga and Junjou romantica contain rape. (In the case where we are still following our first rule about verbal consent.) An explanation of why this manga gets called out for rape and Junjou Romantica doesn't is the simple matter of the different ways they are portrayed. This manga is more realistic in the sense that the uke's feelings are shown more strongly. Junjou Romantica, on the other hand is portrayed in a more romantic way. But it still doesn’t change the fact that there was verbal rejection, and that the seme didn’t stop. If you look closely, which one of the two normalises and romanticises rape? In my personal opinion, I’d take the latter. The reason why the Junjou Romantica is not generally considered rape is because of the way they make it seem like it isn’t - even though the first rule of verbal consent is often missing.
Side note: I enjoyed both of them, although there were parts in both that I didn’t like - same goes with almost any other manga. :)
I'm genuinely confused by:
1) The relatively low rating this manga has.
2) The comments saying this manga is "weird."
I get that it's not your usual yaoi manga - it's not so bright and happy, and it doesn't follow the regular yaoi storyline, but the manga isn't messed up or depressed, nor does it have as confusing a storyline as many other stories do.
I'm not even angry that some people found these stories strange and gave the manga a crappy rating, I'm just.... genuinely confused because I honestly don't see anything out of the ordinary at all....
I guess it's ultimately because people have different tastes, but it's pretty sad when a manga that isn't even all that bad gets lower than an 8.0 rating.
And a lot of people are hating on the 2nd story for some reason, and apparently they're not keeping their opinions very respectful at all. There was a comment where someone said they liked the 2nd story more than the first and it had 8 down votes. I felt sorry for whoever wrote that - they were also simply putting their own respectable opinion out there and yet their opinion was bashed on. I also find nothing wrong with the 2nd or first story.
That's good, I was mostly referring to many of the comments that were insulting the manga. I mean, it IS their own opinions, but some of them expressed their dislike for the story in quite rude ways. :) It just upsets me when they forget the feelings of the mangaka (even though she/he may not even see these comments.) especially when the mangaka meant no harm while making her/his story.
Because of the second story, probably.
Personally the second story didn’t register with me too much (I really liked the first), but I feel that the rating is still not deserved. I think these two stories (especially the 2nd one) could've been seperate series so that they could be elaborated better. They both have potential to be great, it's just the stories felt limited to only this much, and so it feels less great than what it should be.
Honestly, the cuteness is unbearable. My body screams whenever I look at that dumpling. It's so freaking cute but it's sexy at the same time. Never had such mixed feelings about a dumpling before.
