uhm what? There's plenty of people who are abusive and scum because of their mental issues. Which is why they get help to cope. Cheating is SCUM behavior, regardless of his intentions and feelings. it would've made more sense if like alex manipulated jin to think that was normal affection and alex was really just pining for jin's ass but this whole "wE'rE lIkE fAmIlY" is just way too unrealistic.
My mom has DID so I'm really sensitive to the topic. I hope this manga stays medically accurate and makes sure to not further stigmatize the disorder as it is already harshly judged.

Thank you! It was definitely confusing and a struggle but she finally got the help she needed and has her alters under control. We're super close now :)

I'm not very informed about the topic but is it completely impossible for an alter to "disappear"? Of course it would probably be very very difficult and take a long time, but I'm just wondering if it truly is impossible or it's just in the world so far there hasn't been a case where a person with DID had an alter at one point and later on it wasn't active (pardon me if my wording choice was wrong;;)
I am a student learning psychology, and from what I know it’s not exactly possible to get rid of a alter or for them to disappear, there is a phenomenon that happens when alters integrates otherwise combine to become a combination of the 2 alters. There isn’t much research around DID and it’s very stigmatized, so I very much could be wrong but this is what I know so far.
It's really complicated and I actually had the talk with my mother about it. At one point she told me she let them all go but she brought them back because they gave her comfort. She said everyone who has it is different like the control is different, the relationships with the alters are different, etc etc. I can't really comprehend how she brought them back if she had them leave because I haven't experienced it. So whether they can disappear or not may really just be up to the person who has it.
I think that’s the suppression of the alters, some people can’t control suppressing their alters but some have the capacity to suppress them, like your mother said everyone’s control is different.
