maetel, to me, is mostly to blame for this miscommunication. louis has literally referred to someone else as the one maetel has feelings for multiple times and he just doesn't catch on/listen? he's acting as if he already confessed when he didn't, and just expects him to know, despite there being clear signs he doesn't. i feel like i totally would get it if i were louis, i would think it's someone else too, if i had been under the impression that it was someone else from the start, and maetel continued to never clarify it despite him mentioning this 'other' person.
