i hated chei/teo's little side story and wasn't happy for them at all. i hated their character's drastic changes that added no depth to the story. the character's feelings were displayed awfully and gave me whiplash.
teo i can understand somewhat, except the fact that he supposedly loved Raymond for years but changes his mind after fucking another dude- one who threatened his supposed first love, then ends up falling for him despite him being completely different, in the worst ways, from his long-time "love", Raymond?
and chei literally was taking his anger out on someone who literally had no control over the situation and even if he was a child then he was an adult when he started all this and had multiple chances to recognize kata had nothing to do with that, there's no way he didn't recognize that, and was straight up just inhumane but all of a sudden he has a 'sweet' side and is just 'misunderstood'? i feel like his character just suddenly completely changed and i was just annoyed anytime he came back up
they just seemed so insincere and poorly put together as characters imo
