SDJKHGKJSDHG I JUST LOVE IT WHEN CHARACTERS ARE MATURE. EXPRESSING YOUR FEELINGS AND COMMUNICATING IS SO SEXY AND ATTRACTIVE. I DON'T EVEN CARE THAT THE MAIN STORY ENDED BECAUSE IT ENDED AFTER EVERYONE FINALLY TALKED TO EACH OTHER. I'M PROUD OF YOU MR. HAN YOU'RE ON THE RIGHT PATH TO REDEMPTION AND YES HWI YOU TREAT PARAM THE SAME WAY YOU'VE ALWAYS DONE AND YOU'RE GOLDEN

Lord... I went on such a rant about Seunghyun and Jongchan not communicating properly and how it really should have been Jongchan to lead with maturity. And lo and behold, such a nice development, EXACTLY AS I WANTED FOR THEM. We have to give credit to Seunghyun for also recognizing his misconceptions of what a relationship will actually look and work like. They both accept that arguing will be inevitable but it's how they resolve them together that is the most important. This is such a satisfying development, almost as satisfying as Jongchan giving Yoosung a piece of his mind.

I'M SO FLOORED THAT PARAM ACTUALLY ADMIT THINGS THIS QUICKLY. THIS IS SUCH GREAT PROGRESSION.

I feel like the easy opinion to have in this situation is that Seunghyun is at fault for poor communication, but I think it’s important to recognize how immature Seunghyun is when it comes to relationships and love. The only relationship he’s ever had was unrequited love that lasted for years. I can mostly agree with Jongchan’s line of “You are not special in your suffering” because it’s a reminder that so many people have experienced the woes and hardships of not having their feelings reciprocated, but it’s so much more complicated in this situation. It doesn’t seem like Seunghyun is asking for pity, he is trying to come to terms with an infeasible relationship of the past and this new relationship at the same time. And to be frank, he’s not emotionally equipped for it. This was someone who had his first sexual experience, not to mention his first kiss, at the age of 29. And the person that he’s shared these first with just so happens to be his superior at work. The current relationship dynamic is so skewed, and it’s apparent that Jongchan isn’t taking all of this into consideration when he decided retaliate with a “get over it” mentality. “Anyone with a broken heart just accepts it and lives on.” He’s correct here once again, but how does he honestly hope for this to be taken considering he’s the new man in Seunghyun’s life. It’s very uncompromising and frankly incredibly frustrating that as the more mature individual in this dynamic, he’s unwilling to approach the conversation more softly. I admit that Jongchan is probably tired of dating because he hasn’t had a successful relationship that wasn’t his job, but it’s such a bad look to be so dismissive of Seunghyun’s feelings when he should know that Seunghyun’s so inexperienced with the world. Seunghyun has for the most part experienced life in a bubble of academia, and no matter how capable or sexually appealing he is in Jongchan’s eyes, it doesn’t mean that those things are true. “Why doesn’t he defend himself” just proves that he’s applying his own worldly logic rather than putting himself in Seunghyun’s shoes. They’re both at fault for communication issues, but I’m willing to side with Seunghyun because it’s not him that should know better, but Jongchan…

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! HOLY SHIT. I LITERALLY AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAID- i understand why some people are annoyed @ seunghyun but why are SO MANY people annoyed at him???? He literally just wanted to express his feelings to the section chief leader. Yes, he avoided him for days and he was confusing, but the way Section chief responded wasn't helpful at all either. They both really didn't communicate well but at least Seunghyun tried to express his thoughts honestly in the end. Section Chief, while his words aren't untrue, was so... harsh in his delivery with them...

Exactly.. altho not everyone just accepts a broken heart and lives on, I don't think he is right about that. I can't appreciate him at all right now because he knew he was getting involved with an innocent and he's in a power position and being pretty cold hearted. I wish the uke didn't suffer so much for it, I wish someone else showed interest in the uke if for no other reason than for him to realize it's a big world with lots of fish in the sea and there might be someone who is more considerate of his feelings.

While understand your points, many seem to be dismissing the fact that Jongchan was left to wonder what happened and is I guess supposed to be a mind reader? Seunghyun avoided him for days. We're only seeing this from Seunghyun's POV so far and not Jongchan's. It is obvious, he was upset when he finally caught up with Seunghyun, he confronted him and said "Why are you doing this to me?" Does that sound like a man who is cold and doesn't care? He was upset and has every right to be. He probably went though alot of confusion and mental anguish prior to their confrontation. He didn't even know Seunghyun knew his ex and hearing him say "He was everything to me. I loved him." probably hurt Jongchan inside and he chose to emotionally withdraw. To him, the relationship was long over and not a big deal and here is this guy whom he likes saying he loved his ex. People process things differently and we can't decide they are wrong because they don't react how we expect them to... like for example someone crying at a funeral vs someone who doesn't. It doesn't mean the one who doesn't cry isn't upset. Self preservation is strong in everyone and we all have different coping mechanisms. Withdrawing is Jongchan's obviously based on his past experiences (which we don't even know yet. Just making assumptions that he's an ass) I understand Seunghyun being shocked finding that pen. I would be too, but I relate more to Jongchan's reaction at this point with all that occurred.

Gurlll yes thank you for putting my thoughts into words. I understand the whole situation is frustrating and i understand why jongchan would be frustrated here but seeing the amount of people attacking seunghyun without fully understanding why hes behaving this way is just (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ i think both sides have valid points but as you said considering the experience jongchan has in relationships and the power dynamic between them he could have reacted better in the situation. But well this shows that theyre both human and need to communicate and ~listen to one another better

I totally agree that Jongchan's reaction isn't unwarranted, but between Seunghyun and Jongchan, I'm inclined to side with the person who doesn't hold all of the power in their relationship. It wasn't okay for Seunghyun to drop the ball on Jongchan after what they had just been through, something that seemed like a major step in their relationship. His attempt at conveying his true feelings to Jongchan was also sloppy and ultimately did not alleviate any of the misunderstandings that the two of them were experiencing. But when I personally look at this mess, keeping in mind the power dynamic between the two of them and the amount of experience either of them have when it comes to relationships it leads me to my current stance. I'm looking forward to the exploration of Jongchan's past though because as you said, we don't know very much yet. All we know is that he's prioritized his work over any relationship he's had in the past and has led to never having a fulfilling love life. This is clearly an area with a ton of room for exploration; where we can find the potential causes for why he has reacted and processed the situation the way that he has. With Seunghyun's perspective at the forefront of the narrative at the moment, Jongchan reads as overly harsh. Seunghyun is seemingly terrified of what's going to happen to him as a powerless intern who is at the mercy of not only Jongchan professionally but a company that is in the middle of internal politics. Jongchan is in a much better position to leave this love affair unscathed.

You've got some well thought out points there!! I feel Seunghyun was already greatly damaged from his own doing before meeting Jongchan because of his secret love of Jongchan's ex. Neither characters had any idea of this and will be pulled into drama not of their own making. This could also strain the friendship between Jongchan and his ex which seems to be pretty healthy imo. Personally, I feel Jongchan should back away completely, mainly due to the fact that a manager/subordinate relationship in the real world could get the manager fired lol. Two, there could be deep doubts and insecurities due to Seunghyun's unacknowledged feelings for the EX and knowing he was with Jongchan. Bsides sex, what motivations are there for progressing the relationship at this point? But to answer that, there would be no story left to tell lol. I really do dislike how the cold (not cruel) characters are automatically unfairly hated...not knowing their backstory, but no one calls out the actions from the "softer" or perceived weaker character that "needs to be protected" whose actions oftentimes creates and/or prolongs the drama lol. I wait to see both perspectives first, but do have a habit for always fighting for the underdog and misunderstood. Alas, thank you for giving me some things to possibly reconsider and I look forward to seeing Jongchan's backstory and the development of their relationship.

I really enjoyed reading your thoughts on the matter too! I definitely agree that we shouldn't all form a mob to lynch Jongchan for conflict that's basically just started. We don't know enough to definitively say anything. It's just gut reactions at this point and what really matters is how the angst builds or disperses based on the characters' actions from this point forward. And I totally agree with you on the distinction between cold and cruel. Jongchan isn't saying anything to intentionally make Seunghyun feel bad, he just can't process why Seunghyun feels the way that he does; which seems like it's going to be a trend given the few peeks we've had into Jongchan's thoughts.
