I sometimes don't want to read the comments under such genre because why be here when you don't like it? Can't they just like don't comment anything? Just leave and drop the manga silently.
And people who read such genres (like me) knows how to seperate fiction from reality. We know!! So those people don't act like they're pure and haven't done wrong things in life.
i think criticism here can be appropriate (and i do have a lot of criticisms) but people announcing their departure like we’re an airport is bizarre cause you’d open up their profile and lo and behold there’s like every problematic korean BL in existence on their already read list.
I 100% agree OP!! There are so many varieties and sub genres in comics, idk why some people expect every single one to fit their own personal preference. And make it seem like other people’s preferences are “wrong”.
Also art is art. If you don’t like something, that doesn’t stop it from being art. It’s just not for you. I wish people could understand that.
To go even deeper: Antis who make abrasive comments on comics attacking others and authors for liking tropes they “disapprove” of tend to not fully understand the concept that media does not equal real life. When we listen to music, watch movies, and read books, our brains are supposed to understand consciously and unconsciously that what we are consuming isn’t real. That’s the entire point of media. To stimulate our brains in ways real life doesn’t. Example. People watch horror but I’m sure most fans of horror don’t feel the need to hurt people in the real world. That’s just obvious.
As a result this leads people to have preferences. And that’s fine.
The difference between the behavior of antis and people who have preferences. Is that someone with a different preference might say something like “not for me but the art is nice/plot was okay, but it didn’t fit my tastes/intrigued by the cover but I couldn’t feel the chemistry at all” etc. it’s totally fine to NOT LIKE SOMETHING. but antis saying things like “you guys are fucked up/disgusting/p*do/how could you support X y z” I literally just bullying behavior. You are just trying to force your control on someone else. It’s also performative activism because policing the preferences and enjoyment of others (especially women who historically are almost never allowed to have space anywhere let alone enjoy things, which I wish antis would think about).
Also for decades and beyond, people have fought for the freedom of sexual expression in media. Like books are still being banned in schools for even mentioning same gender relationships. Yet antis are pissed at authors and readers for enjoying comics? You’re just as bad as the people banning books in schools. Lol.
Sadly antis will one day have a mirror shown to them and realize they’re becoming (if not already) the monsters they think they’re fighting.
Lastly, antis need to learn: it’s just not that deep.
Like even on a basic level, if I wanna see drawings fuck other drawings, it’s not that deep.
Feel free to create your own media and commission your favorite artists to create content that fits YOUR preference. But at the end of the day, you’ll ALSO find others who think your preferences are bad. And no one will care.
The world will keep turning. Age gaps/incest/etc will not make the world burn. It’s just not that deep. The universe continues expanding. And so should you.

I'm kind of rooting for the crazy blond guy because he genuinely curious and care about Sera but I'm also rooting for Eeron. The guy is always on edge before the current Sera took over.

So this confirms it, Lorkan does not love or like Brian nor Ian in the slightest, he just obsess with him because Brian made Sol change so much. He just wanted to possess him, to have him. Maybe he believe that by possessing Brian will automatically give him what Brian and Sol have.
He's so twisted. I see the difference between Sol and Lorkan. While Sol is definitely overprotective and worry about Brian, he tried to stop him but soon give in. Sol is not putting Brian in a cage like a bird with clipped wings. He supports him while still looking after him but Lorkan is different. He may have found Ian first but he's put him in a cage and clip his wings, preventing Ian from spreading his wings and tasting what true freedom is but when Ian met Sol, he became free and true to himself.
I just wish Brian fought Lorkan instead of breaking the contract with killing Brian and then waiting for Brian to be reincarnated to form a contract with him.
