Honestly it feels like the duke is just babying Areum now. I don't like her attitude either. The tutor wasn't exactly right but there were points that are accurate that the MC couldn't just handle. It feels like she's taking what she's getting without much thought and becoming this spoiled child. Like the duke would do anything as long as she's happy. I don't even see her do much work either despite being a maid.
In her defense, I dont think she acted out. Furthermore it was a mental note. Im sure everyone had said something unkind to our mentors somewhere in our years. Plus, she made her homework perfect just to make the tutor happy. And followed his instructions to do the waltz and etiquette. The only reason she didnt do the work was because she was exhausted from the lessons. (As if yall had been stellar in your homework submission, especially if u are high school student doing something equivalent political science in the real world.)
I think it is Duke Travis that is regressing in character. There's nothing attractive about a man that acts like a smothering mother hen, slashing at anything that he thinks "displeases" Areum. I dont know how he found out but I doubt that Areum is the character that would go prattle to the duke like a spoilt child
Ok well I'm the dukes defense he only wanted her to have a tutor. He said learning the etiquette and all was pointless cause he just wanted her to do what she had done before. She said she went to school before and he asked if she wanted to learn which is why he gave her the tutor. Was he a bit crule to the tutor yes but most nobles are to commoners that don't do as told which the Duke said not to give her extra useless work. The tutor was the one babying her by giving her dance and etiquette it was the tutor that called her useless. The Duke is just fighting a commoner that he think is out of line
Then he is completely disregarding her wellbeing. Hes the one that has decided she will attend the ball with him. Does he expect to march her into a room full of nobility with zero preparation and have her still enjoy herself? That's just another example of him only thinking of himself. He wants her there so she will be there and her comfort in the situation is an afterthought if it's a thought at all. Shes basically a pet at this point.
true, he really didn't take her feelings into account, how much pressure he's putting on her. he said she "just has to just enjoy herself" but she's more likely to be able to do just that if she attends as a maid and their no eyes on her, over analyzing her every move. he makes it seem all so easy, but if its was truly "fun" there wouldn't be any any homework and uncomfortable shoes involved (etiquette classes)
I mean the fox isn't exactly wrong about vengeance for its brethren though...
But the real question is which side started it first? Demons or humans? You just can't know unless it has something about it in the story.
