In one of the flashback, Alexi went to find his birth dad and said the father would rather take care of someone else's kid instead of his own biological son.
So Lean's dad had a child with someone else and Mate is a step-dad.
Makes sense now,
Then why's the reason alexi's dad want lean to bear his grandchild? From what i remembered, it was because lean is the son of that person and felix.
It’s because Lean is Felix’s child and he wanted something to hold over Felix head. I mean he wanted to kill Lean because Felix kept trying to kill Alexei. Alexei and Lean do not have the same birth parent.
