The ML wanted to turn the emperor to sword to avenge for Keira so that the emperor felt what Keira felt but then Keira got scared of the ML (a lil bit of PTSD) and thought his action was getting rash and out of her control so she run away.
p/s: I don't really remember whether the ML succeed in turning the emperor or not. But according to my hazy memory (and my wish), the emperor did turn to sword.

so I couldn't resist and read the novel, I'm not fully updated but here's what I have so far. During the rebellion Dylan sorta Sherlock Holmes the shit our of FL's secret when he found the imperial family's secret library containing all the records of the family's shittery. When ML captured the Emperor he was worried that if FL finally got her revenge she'll lose the will to live or disappear (since getting revenge seemed to be her life's only driving force). When FL went to where Dylan is (coz she thought Dylan might have robbed her of her revenge by killing the Emperor). she was shookt to find the Emperor all bloody and dead-like with Dylan, but surprise! He was still alive. What he did was he made the emperor swallow the thing that starts the process of what turned FL into Keira. So the Emperor can't die no matter how much they stab or torture him. This gave FL much mixed feels, on one hand she can go ham on the Emperor and rekt his ass, on the other Keira-PTSD-Flashbacks. She realizes that she no longer has full control over Dylan and what he did scared the shit out of her.
