I honestly really like this manhwa because jt's genuinely so complicated. It makes the reader question whether they truly were in love, and goes so far as to twist the idea of love and romance into something disturbing and frankly monstrous. I don't know how I feel about their relationship. They have killed together, loved together and in a way, died together. I think a lot of people enjoy this kind of 'romance' because Yoonbum and Sangwoo have become so irrefutably entangled in each other and are rather codependent. I suppose to many people, that is a facet of love: doing everything together and being willing to even die for each other. Yoonbum and Sangwoo have done just that; their relationship has taken a detrimental turn and they fall into place with each other. They become one. But here's the next question: is that okay? To be so completely absorbed and enthralled by someone (even if it is mutual) to risk one's own humanity? I think that's how their 'love' and subsequently, this story plays and weaves the reader into a tale of despondency and macabre. I don't have a full opinion on their relationship, it is so tattered with flaws and threaded with maniacism and atrociousness, but their web of lies and pain remains intact. The story itself is not necessarily as important or impactful as their relationship. Yoonbum and Sangwoo remain as these cult figures, and their relationship is notorious and simultaneously adored. There is no one right way to read the story, not is there a right opinion on their cobweb of 'love'. The author of this manhwa has woven a tale so crude and a couple so controversial and diabolical; hats off to her. Had a great read!(≧∀≦)
how can people not like the fl's personality? i like the fact that she is so mature and reserved. she's been through SO MUCH it doesn't make sense for her to be the innocent happy girl she once was. i love this story so much, like our fl is strong as hell and doing her freaking best. honestly fuck everyone who treated her like shit.
I know right. She's just so DONE with everything, so it's accurate for her to be devoid of emotion at this point.
Especially after being driven into a corner and committing massacre in one of her previous timelines --- only to die, wake up and find out that even ALL THAT was just wasted effort.
What I see in Hilise is a person who is just so mentally exhausted, but is still willing to give life another shot by trying to take a different approach. I admire her tenacity.
i agree. after all, too much trauma can literally make a person numb to anything.
