Shion is basically every teenage gay kid every and this is coming from one. Many of the aspect of his characters are endearing and so real in portraying queer outlook on love early on.

Like the shoujo mangas as his only pov on what affection is supposed to be is so real because some of us didn't get to have these types of media openly. Many of the people here seem to misunderstand his character, he's supposed to be obnoxious and proud because he is aware that he gives it his all and delivers (as per the hockey and baseball passages) but as any good characterization goes and finds the sweet spot in those characteristics to gain growth and maturity over the course of the story.

I get everyone loves Rei's suave and nonchalant demeanor but for me, Shion really makes this story such a stellar one so many aspects of this story wouldn't work if he wasn't the character he's written to be.

I know the censored uploads still had moments of spice in it but it never actually mattered because the dialogue, the scenes, the pacing and the characters are too well written
