I wanna comment on that too! Exactly!! I imagine Benno is an old man with moustache and beard! Lol.... never expected him to be drawn this handsome and young. But so far all of the characters are good looking.. so maybe it’s just the mangaka’s preferences, .
Yeah must be their preference huh! but like oddly enough, none of the other boys really stand out and even if Otto is supposed to be a good age for lookwise, he's paling in comparison to Benno here x'D It's like most the character designs are background characters and Benno over here is flashing his anime hair lol.. this must be the power of rich people in their world...

You must've read a different translation than me. Age wise, Maine says he's about her father's age (so around 30 because people marry young). And she describes him as having curly, pale milk-tea colored hair. Nothing anywhere in her descriptions of him made him seem old, overweight or bald. Especially considering how pretty his sister is. I assumed with genetics being what they are, he's probably not bad on the eyes either.
I'v only seen one translator listed on novel updates so I think we are reading the same one but I was just assuming from manga/anime sterio-types that most the characters of certain ages look similar unless specified on their looks compared to age so I didn't think much else when reading his description asides from "oh so like his dad, a bit cleaner but still scruffy I bet." x'D Plus most isekai manga seems to have the male merchants look like what I described unless they're the mc too so that also gave me the impression he'd end up looking more like them.
When you mentioned about the genetics, you reminded me how cute his sister is so I'm glad it runs in their family haha. I'm so glad the creators decided to go with a more realistic approach to the story's design and character designs though, its refreshing.

So looks like the manga ends on v6 but part 2 re-continues in April and with a new artist and slightly new name. I'm going to miss this one :') I heard that they asuna's pov was quite lacking in v 2 & 3 wit kirito's pov but this mangaka handled it pretty well so I'm hoping the next person does just as good
Was interested in SAO at first untill I got tired of the stupid harem bs and kirito's staleness but Asuna has a bit more personality and glad to see it shining here. More of the game's mechanics are explored here, asuna's brains and kirito's streetsmarts combination is shining nicely and its fun to see her fresh experience with the game vs Kirito's beta version. I'm curious to see how they handle bs harem though cause I remember loosing interest when that bs started crawling all over the concept. I hope we get a lil fanservice for Asuna too asides for kirito now that its mostly in her POV lol

Thought fujito was the MC for this story at first but its kind of nice to see it in Ikuto's POV for MC instead cause I'm a sucker for all the hard work that happens backstage lol. Pacing doesnt feel too slow might even be a bit fast but I like it so far, I'm hopng Fujito's character grows a bit more from what we've seen so we can hype about her as well lol
So far I think my favorite isekai kiddos are either the prime minister, demon of the market, or the top intel girl lol! So far they have the most reasonable (out of their insane specialties) lol. Maybe we'll get some spotlight time for the top sword girl and engineer later (Maybe along the lines of like training the military/advancing the city) but so far the doctor might have the least interesting spotlight so far :'D It's cool and all she's hella skilled in saving folks but maybe a bit more pages of her saving the grandfather might have made her amazing.
