I'm kind of surprised that nobody tagged this with * rape * - I'm of course not saying there's anything wrong with enjoying this! I actually really really like the seme and I do find the uke very interesting - i was just very surprised to come in and immediately be treated with non con situations until they get further down and how chill everyone is about it kind of put me off and even kind of blame the seme for being mean to the uke for kind of being assaulted like i said, kind of surprised me. I'm very glad alo too people like it and fine the characters endearing- just wish that had been a popular tag!
I find the writing and the true soul mate writing in this to be incredibly endearing, I've never quite seen an omegaverse trope like this one, tbh honest it's one of my faves fundamentally- I do really like this story, and like I said no slack to anyone who likes it, it just gives me a bit of a squicked out feeling with how the seme is treated in the first chapters- just my opinion!
I find it interesting that there's actually a lot of takes and a lot of them negative, which is obviously fine! I found it interesting because I was really invested for the characters and the situations, and I wonder if some who *cw* have experienced the things the characters have gone thru, like financial distress, death, and trauma and abuse,connect to this bl more, like I do, or if it's just a me thing. Once again I was surprised but everyone's opinions are interesting and valid ! Just kind of surprised, I dont usually see this kind of back and forth with these specific kinds of mc's and tropes.
Honestly also suprised because up until the shit show with the last chapters, the writing had been pretty solid, and I felt very invested in the story and character feelings, and had some of the more refreshing healthier mindsets on sex workers, women just being women in Korea, being lgbt in Korea, and the rampant and really horrible financial issues and debt issues the the lower class experience in Korea- i won't lie and say the last like 20 chapters have not been as impactful but not enough to turn me off to the characters- and i realize some people don't enjoy.other character stories that distract from the mc's, even though I u s u a lly enjoy it, but that's all personal opinion of course.
